Really? You must be seeing things I cant because I clearly see black tape and vinyl covering the lines of the existing freedom top.

Ooh. You're right. That's what I get for not double-checking!

      Awesome.

When the Crew Chief concept debuted, Jeep execs said the Wrangler truck was hiding in plain sight.
I'm guessing the final truck bed and soft top will look like this:

The rear wheel placement, in relationship to the passenger cab, looks very similar to the concept. The design of the wheels looks similar too.

I forgot about the Crew Chief... what a great looking concept. If they can bring a similar style to the production model it will sell like hotcakes.

It would also be cool if the front and rear seat areas were both removable but the rear "bulkhead" and window area was fixed. Which is kinda how it looks in the pictures. I don't think its imperative this part be removable.
Before getting my 2012 JKU, all of my other Wranglers were soft-top or hardtop with soft-top installed in the spring. The arrival of the Freedom Top, with the debut of the JKU, made it easy for me to give up on the soft-top altogether, when shopping for my 2012. For the front seat passengers, the "top down" experience is 100% the same feeling as if you were riding in the soft-top with the top down. Rear seat passengers, not so much. The only downside, from a visual/design viewpoint, is it is not always obvious to pedestrians or people in other cars that the "top is down", with the Freedom Top. Some of the great romance about convertibles and soft top Wranglers, is the full exposure to the elements and the expression of freedom that represents. A hardtop Wrangler, even with the Freedom Top panels removed, to an external viewer, is a very closed-off and constrained presentation.

What about with the freedom panels removed and the doors removed?

One thing Ive been going back and forth about with these pictures is the wheels. They obviously have a VERY high offset yet they still stick well outside of the vehicle, even in front where the fender flares are on. Also the lugs are covered. Could there potentially be different axles under this vehicle???

I don't have any good place to store my doors. I have a driveway, but no garage.
I have seen JKUs with all 4 doors off and the front Freedom Panels removed, and the resulting look is very open and airy.
Removing the rear section of the hardtop, on the JKU, is as tedious and as heavy as removing the hardtop on any CJ-TJ Jeep.

It looks like it could be an HD version, like the HD full-sized trucks from the Big Three.

You can't sweat details on a pre-production mule. I'm guessing those aren't the production wheels as far as detail, offset and size.

Im not sweating the details about the wheels specifically, only that they are hiding something serious.

I think that they're just testing wheels, something like this:

Interesting, cant say I've seen these before. Do they have measuring devices inside the wheels or something?

Here are two quotes from the Panamera mule thread:

Not these exact ones, but same idea:

      Also seen on F1 cars...

I remember spy pics of the original version of the Cayenne that had the wired version of these wheels....can't find a pic though.

Hah I was thinking the same thing. Only a matter of time before Rotiform knocks them off.

More spy pictures have been found, which now show the final grille design. I like what I see so far.

Also, picture from underneath a camo'd Wrangler which show a diesel DEF tank and skid plate. Also shown in what is thought to be the finalized underpinnings.

What I like about this redesign, is the fact it won't make me feel like 2012 has been made immediately obsolete (from a design perspective).

It would be so hard to sell my cummins TJ for something else but a 4 door JL Rubicon Diesel could convince me.

Didn't get a picture because I was driving, but I saw a Brute on Saturday. I thought it was a thing of myth. It looked awesome. I'd never buy a pickup Jeep though, or likely any pickup because not all my friends have pickups, and I don't want to be the weekend helper all the time.
