So the short version of this story is the truck got picked up back in 2012, then got cleaned up a bit just to sit until I started working on it.

Here are pictures of when the truck got picked up.

Some pictures of the start of body work back in 2012

This was the day I got it.

Apparently this fell out of the headliner when the previous owner pulled the interior. It's pretty cool!

      It's Türkis, which I believe is a 1960-65 Beetle/Bus color.

I painted the bay, installed my external hood release, and pulled the wiring harness out of my donor Cabby. Anyone want to give me some input on the best way to wire US tail light wiring into the Cabby fuse block?

Slowly making progress on this wiring and everything for this Cabby dash swap. I also just got my ECU back from being tuned and sent out my engine harness for the engine swap.

      Thanks!

The current plan is the 20vT out of a 2003 Jetta with an 020 at first, mainly because it's what is currently available to me.

Got the motor and everything back together!

1.8t out of a 2003 Jetta. High flow manifold, custom mount bracket, 16v tensioner pulley, Pwrhaus 2.0 coil pack adapters, Pwrhaus SAI delete, and a few other things deleted here and there.

Now I'm waiting for the clutch to come in so we can drop the motor in. Today I'll be working on swapping over brakes and doing some suspension work.

      Thanks!

The engine mount bracket was made by a friend/co-worker who is a much better fabricator and welder than I am, aha.

      Thank you!

Reached a pretty big milestone over the weekend and got the engine/trans in, swapped to a TT225 manifold to flip the throttle body to the other side, and started mocking up radiator, intercooler, and oil cooler along with starting to lay out the wiring.
