what will happen is someone will be ballsy enough to get alongside, forcing the other driver to leave a da space a. But not many will have such big brass balls, so well see how thats gonna go.

Worse. The cars are significantly wider, and will probably have equal or greater amount of turbulence behind the car making it harder to follow.

But now Alonso and Hulkenburg can potentially race at LeMans.

OP updated with a TBA for Hamilton's team mate at Mercedes.

Nico Rosberg has announced his retirement from Formula 1 with immediate effect following his World Championship victory in Abu Dhabi last weekend.

And the news just came in that Nico is retiring! Where the hell is that coming from?!? Not much of an explanation from him.

A V6 mustang is like going to the prom with your sister. Sure you might have sex at the end of the night, but something just won't feel right.

Holy s*** At first I was like, this is a joke right? But multiple outlets are running the story.

So does he think he doesn't have it to defend his title for 2017? If so then that's total weak sauce. Has fighting for the 2016 title drained him? How about another go at it and prove the first one wasn't a fluke? Again, weak sauce.

I'm picturing Alonso calling his lawyers and managers right about now. But I'm betting Wehrlein getting the seat.

Something must have gone down the last few days.

Nico should release a memoir soon, it will be fun to read the Mercedes shenanigans.

wow that was unexpected. I thought Hamilton would get a seat somewhere else, but boy was I wrong.

Seriously, I wonder what "punishment" Hamilton will get now...seems like they need him more than ever

I'm not sure if Wehrlein is ready. He couldn't beat Haryanto and Ocon outdrove him.

Pure speculation from my part: Maybe Rosberg gave an ultimatum to Mercedes asking them to choose between him and Hamilton....

Rosberg said that losing the title two years in a row greatly affected him. So I'm guessing that he won't have what it takes to bring it to Hamilton for another long grueling season. And he doesn't want to be another Button or Raikkonen. So just go out on top, on his term.

I'm looking at the current list of drivers and Wehrlein is the only logical choice. First of all, he's a Mercedes boy. Second, can Mercedes as a team cope with another season of Hamilton vs. Rosberg cage match?

If Wehrlein gets the seat, there won't be a lot of pressure on him and Toto could lay off the ulcer medication. But this could all change if Wehrlein is naturally fast and it's McLaren 2007 all over again

Holy crap, at first I didn't believe it but it's all over F1 news sites. Wow.

Congrats Nico, go enjoy your family life now. Can't wait to see who gets the other Merc seat

Rosberg said he told the team on Monday. So it was right after the final round.

And yeah, I hope he spills the bean like real soon. He could make a s*** load of money with a tell-all book

Heck, it would be a marketing genius if a copy of the book came with a packet of microwaves popcorn
