I remember talking about clear bras with some people at the GTG (don't exactly remember which people...must've been delerious from the heat). At any rate, I got the following e-mail today:

    Quote »
    Greetings,

The Kansas City Region PCA chapter is sponsoring another Invinca-shield (Clear Bra) installation session!

We are currently planning another Invinca-shield install session for the weekend of July 25-27th. I wanted to give everyone a heads up because the number of installs that can be done during the weekend is limited. If you are unfamiliar with Invinca-shield then click on this link:
    http://www.smiley.net/boxster/Invinca3.htm
    or the company's home page:
    http://www.invinca-shield.com

We will be using the same installer as before, Alan Seligman, who is one of the best installers world-wide. Alan has received awards for his installations and has flown to Europe to do several exotics and is highly sought after. We are VERY lucky to be able to get him to come to KC for the weekend! If you have questions for Alan you can reach him via email at invincaman@cfl.rr.com or by phone at 407-927-1900.

Alan will come to the Porsche Club breakfast at Le Peep (79th and Quivira) that Saturday the 26th at 8am to answer any questions and then proceed to work on cars afterwards. If you are interested in either having your car done, or just coming out to watch and socialize, then please contact me directly.
    ksmiley@kc.rr.com or 913-302-9890

Please book a spot early, I can't stress this enough, kits have to be ordered and Alan has to assess how much time it will take to do the install on each car. He is a perfectionist, this isn't some rush job as the pictures from last year's event will attest to, so Alan needs to work out the schedule for that weekend.

    Sincerely,

    Ken Smiley
    KC PCA Webmaster - http://www.pca.org/ksc/

I think I'm gonna go check it out. I looked at the Invinca-Shield web site, and they actually offer a kit for the 337/20AE/Votex body-kitted cars! Most places that sell pre-cut kits only cover the basic models, and even then only cover a small portion. Their prices seem pretty reasonable, too.

Now, if only they'll make a kit for the R32...

    Mike

Pretty cool. I wonder if it is too late for my car since it already has some damage.

How much damage are we talkin' about? If it's just one or two small chips, you might think about going ahead and saving what you've got. If it's pretty gnarly, I'd recommend a respray, wait 3 or 4 weeks for the paint to cure (that's the hard part), then promptly getting the clear bra installed--or do it yourself.

The Invica-Shield is sold as a do-it-yerself kit. At the very least, we can watch a pro do some installs (on some tasty Porsches, no less), and we'll have a better idea what to do when the time comes. ...Or find a trusted tint/decal shop with experience to do the install. <shrug>
