Since the other thread was hijacked and got shut down (actually us bacon lovers hijacked it first ) I took it upon myself to start a new thread dedicated to love and preservation of bacon. Here's some pics

    Mmmmm bacon bits!

But how do we feel about the "Fakon Bits"? You know, the little soya nasties that people try to pass off in salads?
Also, what is your favourite bacon flavoured non-pork item? Like bacon potato chips.
How about different flavours of bacon itself. I love peameal bacon. Or maple bacon (in small quantities).

    Apparently I need a hobby.

My husband was crushed when he realized that Bac~O's aren't bacon.
We've since switched to an actual bacon-based bacon bit product.

Always considered bacon to be the perfect food. In a group by itself.
Can't think of anything that doesn't taste better with bacon. Grilled swiss cheese w/bacon, burger w/bacon, what could be better. Recently made a pork roast wrapped in bacon; juiciest roast ever. Cook rare.

Remember: Pork, it's too good to be meat.

Best yet: Add a little bacon to roasted potatoes, roasted in a little bacon fat.

I usually pick up center-cut bacon,, but every now & again I find a pack of Decker's Maple flavored bacon. The cool thing about Decker's is that it's never a uniform slice.. it's all weird cut and usually pulls apart and you have a big chunk of meat.. a la back bacon.
What I wanna know is how some places screw up bacon? Ever had bacon at Jason's Deli? :barf:
vini, vidi, posti. Then it got weird.

YYYYEESSSSS, a bacon thread. I love bacon sooo much, whenever its availible i eat it, and on more than one occasion I have made a pound of bacon just to eat myself. the combination of crispness, and saltiness is so so good. the funny part is I eat alot of foods like bacon that are considered unhealthy yet Im 6'1" and weight 140 lbs, so Im really not worried, bring on the bacon!!!

Does McD's use real bacon. One place I've stayed away from it.
Even during the years I was vegetarian, I always allowed my self bacon. Pork is actually the leanest and healthiest of all meat. I think.

    yeah, it's real.
a few months ago, they switched to pre-cooked bacon.
i couldn't really tell a difference, but it took alot more speed to get it off the grill before it burnt!

Strebbs - Thick sliced peppered bacon. Drooool

It's the bacon that eats like a meal.

Traditional Christmas day breakfast at my house (ever since I can remember) is scrambled eggs, champagne & OJ, and lots of back bacon.

Also, whenever we had turkey, my mother would put a couple of strips of bacon across the turkey's back for flavour. There would always be a sprint to the kitchen when the turkey came out of the oven to try to get the bacon before any of my siblings.

    Bacon=good

    It's my favorite smoked/salted meat

A nice breakfast just isn't complete without some nice bacon, cooked JUST right. Not floppy and not crispy to the point of brittle, just right.

And you can eat it just about anytime also! Breakfast, lunch or dinner. It has got to be the most versatile meat ever, nay, evAr!

And about the pic of the pig up there? It has no affect on me. Im one of those weird people that has no problem with where my meat comes from. Start to finish. Like Homer said "If God didn't want us to eat animals, they wouldn't be made out of meat."
