Those front seats alone are probably worth $300. Damn!

Very nice pick up. I'm curious as to why you would put heavy duty diesel oil in a gasoline car. Are there any benefits? That's actually the same stuff I put in my TDI.

A lot of German car owners use Rotella T, because it meets most requirements for a slew of German cars and its readily available and fairly cheap. I used to use it in my Jetta VR6, and it never burned or used a drop.

There is no such thing as "diesel" or "petrol" oil. You just follow manufacturer's recommendation of what viscosity to use.

Ran T6 in my 2014 STi, and it loved it. Oil return tests were always perfect.

That's a stunning deal for a driving car that doesn't need a major drivetrain component (transmission) or major body/paint work.

Wow, the seats looks to be in great shape.

Any plans for the stereo? I'm sure the nav map must be crazy out of date. Is the map on CD-ROM? Are there any suitable replacement that fits in the dash? And more importantly, a wiring harness adapter that works with the car?

But I would wait a bit until you can be sure the car has no major issues that's yet to reveal itself.

No disrespect, but have you watched MCM lately? I do agree that this car needs proper attention & shouldn't be hacked though.

That's when AMG were handbuilt engines?

I'd say you just turned 300$ into a solid 3000$ car. I've wanted the next model AMG c43. 4.3l V8 in a small sedan.

That is a smoking deal. My buddy just did the same thing with a 1998 BMW 750il a couple of weeks ago. We just thoroughly cleaned it this weekend, like you did. It was almost vomit worthy. It reeks like carpet foam and Little Green Machine soap right now. In for more info as you dig further into it.

Viscosity is not the only thing you should be following. The oil should also meet the proper quality standards such as VW 501 01, 502 00, 505 00. The oil the OP is using says "Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil" right on the jug, so maybe there is such a thing as diesel or petrol oil. I know the TDIs pump soot into the engine oil (don't know if this is true of all diesels), so perhaps some "diesel oils", are formulated bit differently for this purpose. I wonder what the benefits would be, if any, when using "diesel oil" in a gasoline car.
