If you keep following the videos, he eventually dynos the thing at 992 hp before blowing something up. This from a van engine with 200K+ miles on it.

The guy that builds those engines is a member on Clubsi.com. He's built a couple 9sec Ford Fairmonts using junkyard LS engines and big turbos. His channel is Sloppy Mechanics.

Cool truck and all but, uh, the mini truck craze went out of fashion in the late 90's. Not saying that's good or bad. But it's a mini truck...

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, the bus would explode! I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

"only" 430 hp out of a turbocharged LS?

The Tacoma and Frontier are still being made and never stopped. GM resurrected the Colorado/Canyon twins because of high demand and Ford is bringing back the Ranger next year. The Wrangler-based pickup also looks to be coming out next year.

My favorite part is the headlights. I had a Colorado once upon a time and I didn't even know that trim existed.

I always wanted to see what somebody could do performance-wise with the inline 5 in those trucks. That engine had a lot of potential, and they sounded positively evil.

A "minitruck" is denoted to mean a modified small truck, typically a Chevy S10, Ford Ranger, Toyota Pickup, possibly a VW, with a shoe-horned in V8, typically slammed to the ground via airbags or cut springs, and occasionally outfitted with some level of acceptable styling treatments, although not usually.

There is nothing done to this truck aside from the V8 stuffed in; which isn't "minitrucking" it's hotrodding.

lol minitruck. Where are the airbags and sweet chrome rims?

Oh just a sec, it's just a big turbo and an LS under the hood.

^ Excellent video. 1076 rwhp is amazing. Also loved the paver next to the dyno.

Anyone polluting this thread with talk of minitrucks and 'nothing new' can suck it.
