Excellent point, not only this car is ugly, beat inside but it also has a peaky power band. And 335s in the front, does he do time attack? All the owner talked about was drag.

But yeah, the owner seemed like a nice gentleman and if he likes the car more err.. power to him.

      Execution looks fantastic.

I wonder why start with an M5 though?

In my eyes they took a great car, Dinan S2 M5, and made it just another widebody-engine swap-tuner car.

Not feeling it, but others are...that's why we all drive different cars, right?

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. Just like the Supra from which the engine was taken, it's a dyno sheet brag-fest, and not much more.
      I unbanned Patrikman.

I also originally banned Zuk & JIMP.

      You're all welcome.

As has been mentioned multiple times, the car already had the 2JZ installed when he bought it...

      Bummer, missed that post
In that case, I'd like to slap the previous owner

That's every big single turbo 2JZ. Takes all the driveability and throws it out the window.

I really dig smoking tire videos. Matt does great reviews and this one in particular was extra interesting. Agree with others that the widebody isn't exactly my cup of tea but it was clearly built well and has a hint of e36 gtr in it. It definitely stands out so why not have a crazy looking looking car to go with the nutty swap? As for people bitching about power delivery... I think the lag would only add to the driving experience in a car like this. Plus it revs quite high so once you get into the boost and know how to drive it, you can stay in the powerband for some time.

I know right?! This just looks sooo boring.

@ 5:40 he launches it from a dig and powers through the first 4 gears never falling out of boost.

Uhhh. The video reinforced our point. A great turbo engine at the 600 horsepower level. Totally annoying over 800hp(the turbo on the M5 is massive and is efficient at the 1000hp levels). The Supra Matt drove in the video had 600hp.

Love the color combo on the green car. The seats are awesome!

I had a customer who knows i like cars all giddy because i was coming to her house and she and her boyfriend have a supra. She's all, "Guess what i have in my garage?" and i'm all "800hp supra...like every supra from Texas. I'm more interested in your RC 350..."

I like it but I don't at the same time. Seems kinda dumb to do it to a M5. Why not start with a cheaper 530 since you're going to modify everything anyways.
