Cool but those prices. The Figaros are absurdly priced.

I really like the Eunos Cosmo those seats look yummy.

As farm/ranch equipment. They can't be titled/plated for on-road use. At least, that's how it used to be.

Makes sense since 1991 would have been 25 years old last year.

A woman that comes to Cars and Coffee out here brings her Figaro to the meet. Guess this is probably where she got it. Neat little car. Lots of awesome stuff at that dealership.

I get that the years make sense, but is there demand? Well I suppose if they're the only people in the US selling the things.

Makes me wonder what the resale market is for near-25 year old cars in Japan, knowing that they can start being imported to the US without restrictions at that point. Is there a spike in average used car price around that age?

Great inventory... but I have a few complaints.

      A) Crackpipe pricing on just about everything.
      B) Why is almost everything automatic... can the dealer not drive a manual?
      C) Apparently the dealer has a boner for Figaros and Beats... they account for most of the inventory, lol.

      Example: http://www.duncanimports.com/used/To...80f1cf1e4f.htm

$17k for a 17 year old tacoma with 51k miles? That truck didn't cost that much when new! Yeah it is super clean and relatively low miles, but I really doubt Tacoma's have reached or would ever reach "collectible" status to justify that price.

That's quite the inventory! I'm planning on being in the area in a few weeks, I may have to stop by and check it out.

Jalopnik did a feature on this last month. It's a private collection within which a lot of the cars happen to be for sale. So that explains the oddity/eccentricity of the collection as well as the pricing

Vehicles are very disposable in Japan and have near zero worth once they hit 10 years old due to the annual inspection ("shakken") becoming due annually at that point. Keep in mind a lot of even new kei cars today are sub-$10k new, so a $500-$1000 inspection (plus repairs needed to grant the new shakken certificate) every year on a 10 year old kei car quickly becomes a waste of money.

It's because virtually nobody in Japan drives anything in manual.

Given how the turd gen is working out thus far and the fact the Tacoma has become a lard ass truck the values are going to go up.

A fine price for a fine automobile.

      I'm inexplicably drawn to this.

The sheer size. The color matching. The aircraft carrier hood. The Landau. The tufted leather.
