Can I get away with running Valvoline Synthetic 80W90 GL-5 in my 020 transaxle for a week or so?
It's what I have on hand but I'm ordering some Redline.
      Thanks chaps.

If you *have* to run it, then it should probably be OK... VW doesn't specify GL5 and there are opinions that the modifiers in the GL5 can attack yellow metals, but then others say the newer GL5 is different and is OK for yellow metals... until VW comes out and tells me the 020 can take GL5, I'll stick by their spec of GL4 for suggestions on 020 oil, but if you are stuck it would be better to run GL5 than let it run low on oil.
