What exactly is the "fix" for these cars and how does it affect the performance and fuel economy?

Thats a shame. I guess some dealerships are just better than other.

Yep. If a part of their regular inventory needs 4 tires and brake rotors after sale, then i can only wonder what is going on with the cars that are 'out of sight out of mind'

I just talked to a member here he confirmed $5k off and 0% for 72.

      I am possibly buying one.

      What engine code are these?

Well the All Track is tied as our #1 choice, that and the Volvo V60CC, but I think the All Track will win due to being $10-15k cheaper.

Now that the TDIs are on sale (I used to own a TDI GSW) that is a great opportunity for a solid car.

There's also a $1000 Loyalty bonus right now on new models. I'm not sure this applies to the 'new' TDIs.

I just emailed my local dealer to see what they have.

Loyalty form clearly states MY2017s only.

I'd consider it for a wagon. Then I'd get it tuned. No emissions tests in MS.

I think it was a post-cat NOx sensor and another or new catalyst, coupled with a software update. i haven't heard how performance is affected.

$5k doesn't sound like a lot when new models (non-TDI) can be had for $4kish off MSRP... a 3 year old car with 3 year old technology needs a much more significant discount IMO. More power to the people who buy these.

Agreed, but the diesel crowd are going nuts.

Is a 2015 purchased now part of the settlement agreement? Or will you just have to get the hardware fix down the line without a modification payment, like someone would get if they purchased prior to the stop-sale?

I just confirmed with the largest mid-atlantic VW dealer that there are no additional discounts. The $5000 requires 72 month 0% financing and is off the MSRP. I got quoted 25,235 for a Golf Sportwagen TDI SE DSG + tax tag title, etc.

not a good deal at all IMVHO for a car that's been sitting on a lot for two years.

when did you guys start selling them? I contacted a dealer about a Sportwagen with panoramic sunroof that was on sale for 18K and they told me its sold already and have 3 left out of about 30ish that I could see online.

GOT DAMN. So you're looking at almost $28k OTD in CA for a 3 year old car. Like I said, more power to the people who really want a diesel... but yikes.

4/14 is when we found out what the incentives were. Some of our cars have been on hold for several months, pending a fix from VW and pending customer agreeing to price..

I have to agree with your last sentence. But I can't help but wonder if this is VW being very strategic: they're hoping diesel enthusiasts will scoop up a bunch of these with the $5K off/0%, then if there are remaining cars next month/following months they'll increase the discounts. I'm sure they think they can sell at least some of these cars with only $5K off, so why lose more money right out of the gate?

If you asked me last week if a leftover diesel were an option for me at a substantial discount, I'd say yes. But now knowing it's only $5k off a 2/3 year old car, it's a hard pass.

Like everything, the dealers will sit on these at MSRP and sell as many as they can to take advantage of the (potential) demand.

If the cars don't move, they'll start discounting.

Everything and everyone has a price.
