oh that sticker on the pump you were talking about means it has all the aditives in it because it was old gas.

its not just the vr that loses reliability, any engine gets less reliable with more mods. i remember a certain 1.8t that was chipped and hated the cold with a passion.

True. Both motors have weakness in certain areas.

I took a good look at the paint today, althought I reserve the right to change my mind when I see the car in the sunlight, in todays overcast conditions the swirl marks appear to be all but gone, and I'm very happy so far. I'll update you when we get a sunny day.
If my guy got rid of the swirl marks that Meister put into the car you can bet I will recommend him to all of you immediatly. Other than that, I could not find a hint of wax or buffing compound that was left behind, or any missed spots. Usually there is some wax or something left in the hood vents or in a body line....can't find any of that!

i used to be pretty good at removing swirl marks. just takes lots of patience

Trav/Tyla I was wondering if either of you had a free night this week that you could help swap my suspension, since we were unable to do it last time I was home, give me a call and let me know thanks.

Let me know how the finish holds up looks in the light. This past summer I called a couple of places in town and the products they used would only hide the swirls for a short time, I need them removed once and for all A good detail would be cheaper than buying a PC & the polishing compounds to go w/ it

One vote for the VRT. If I had a real job I would have made one myself by now.

^^Exactly, a 3.1 sounds awsome, but by the time you have it all apart you might as well do a
LSD, clutch, ring and pinion. Next thing you know you're up to 8g's. There is a guy in the mk3/4
forums, Habitual line stepper (one of the rat stylz gang), his 3.1L ran him almost 10 g's by the
time everything was done. I'd rather just do the Kinetic turbo kit or maybe a vortec s/c. -Dan
