Thread: 17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation & 17536 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Mult): System too L

i have a CEL and limp mode... i just got a VAG-COM and found these 2 faults..
      2 Faults Found:
17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation
      P1556 - 35-00 - -
17536 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean
      P1128 - 35-00 - -
i cleared them but they came back pretty quick...
some details that might help :: '00 1.8T (APH) NB 5spd, Upsolute Chip, 2.5" TechTonics Cat-back, 4bar FPR, TT DV, replaced crappy braided vacuum lines..
anyone have any suggestion as to what is wrong??..
what does "Bank 1 (mult)" mean??..
is there anything i can test or log to help figure out what is up??
      thanks a bunch..

This is in the 1.8t faq. It could be the maf or vacuum leak

i first thought it was the front O2 sensor, but when i replaced it, it was the same... with some help from Rodney at (and others) we figured it was the MAF.. i replaced it last night and it is running great

      as for the::
17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation

we are pretty sure there is a boost leak, on mine it seems to be between the IC and the manifold b/c there is oily gooey residue down in that area... i am going to check for leaks.. i will let you know if i find the problem...

what happened with the negative deviation?
do you have logs of the group 204? or group 115?
what it's your maximum boost pressure?

can you please tell me what the IC is and where I can find it?

The IC is short for intercooler. It is located in the passenger side front fender area. I'm assuming left hand drive when I say that though. You will possibly have to remove the inner fender cover to see where the hoses connect to the intercooler.
