Here's a list of fuses for MKIV cars (fuse too for search)

I found this list in a thread and thought it would be easier to locate in a search with a better title. Thanks to Jackal for posting this in the following thread (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=227321).

MKIV FUSE LIST

1. Washer nozzle heaters, glove compartment light, memory seat control module (10A).
2. Turn signal lights (10A).
3. Fog light relay, instrument panel light dimmer switch (5A).
4. License plate light (5A).
5. Comfort system, cruise control, Climatronic, A/C, heated seat control modules, automatic day/night interior mirror, control module for multi-function steering wheel, control unit in steering wheel (7.5A).
6. Central locking system (5A).
7. Back-up lights, speedometer vehicle speed sensor (VSS) (10A).
8. Open
9. Anti-lock brake system (ABS) (5A).
10. Engine control module (ECM): gasoline engine (10A); diesel engine, Model Year 2000 > (5A).
11. Instrument cluster, shift lock solenoid (5A).
12. Data Link Connector (DLC) power supply (7.5A).
13. Brake tail lights (10A).
14. Interior lights, central locking system (10A).
15. Instrument cluster, transmission control module (TCM) (5A).
16. A/C clutch, after-run coolant pump (10A).

S176. Relays panel interior (110A).
S177. Generator (GEN) (90 Amp.) (110A).
Generator (GEN) (120 Amp.) (150A).
S178. ABS (hydraulic pump) (30A).
S179. ABS (30A).
S180. Coolant fan (30A).

Thanks alot, I really did need this. I am waiting for Bentley to come out with the 2003 Manual for my Wolfie and I needed the fuse listing.

Get this, my cigarrete lighter wasn't working with my cell phone charger, so I thought i blew the fuse, well i open the fuse box and guess what.....it wasn't there!!! in fact a few fuses weren't there!!! Nothing major, but a few discriptions weren't in the box cover so your thread will help me figure out what these numb nuts didn't put in. I called my Dealership VW Palisades and the sales guy was LIVID. He spoke to the group that does the inspection of the car before delivery DRI or something like that and tore them a new one. So just FYI for anyone who thinks that something isn't working on their new car...check the fuses.

So if my a'c/climate controls don't light up anymore, it may be a fuse? #5? At first , the lights would only come on sometimes, then one day that just decided to take a vacation and not light up at all. I don't think it's the bulbs either. If not the fuse, then what?

It's almost definitely the bulb. It's a very common problem. There is a single bulb for all three HVAC dials. It's behind the center, fan speed dial. Use a pair of pliers and a rag (for protection) to pull the know out. It should come out with a good tug. The bulb is behind the dial and should cost around $1 for a new one.

Fuse S162 (see above picture) according to the MKIV Bentley page 26-13.

Also check the scondary air injection pump relay (J299). According to the MKIV Bentley page 97-9, it's located in the "engine compartment, left side, behind air cleaner housing, under protective cover."

Same here.

I pushed my OEM nav back into the dash and it died. My first thought was a blown fuse, but I was really dreading having to go through every fuse.

If you hadn't recently replied to this thread, it might have taken me a bit longer to find it.

while trying to figure out if a fuse had blown due to the cig. lighter not working....my airbag light came on. Any ideas if I tripped a fuse or electrical misfire?

Never happened before until I started pulling fuses to check the outlet.

6. Central Locking System

38. Central locking system (with power windows), luggage compartment light, remote/fuel tank door, motor to unlock rear lid (15A).

I think power windows use the central locking system fuse number 38, but I could be wrong.

Power for the motors comes from a circut breaker (S37) on the auxiliary relay panel under the dash.

could be fuse 13, could be the brake light switch.

Brake lights work fine as do the flashers and my rear fog that I installed. Luckily I installed it or I would have probably been hit before I got to a safe place the other night.
