i have micro de's to a relay and turned on thru a euro switch. the fuse in the relay keeps blowing. i changed a "30" fuse to a "40" but still the same problem. was wondering if this happenned to anyone else and where they eventually found the short. i'm an electrical novice. any ideas? thks!

its actually kind of common. upping the fuse won't help at all, and in fact it is somewhat dangerous. They usually short out within the housing themselves. In other words the back of the projector, where the wires are attached to the light bulb, sometimes short against the housing. To fix if simply wrap all the exposed contacts (spade terminals, etc/) inside that housing with electrical tape.

Exactly what he said. it is usualy only one side that causes it, so you can just test each side to find out which one is causeing the problem.

hit the nail on the head! the white wire in the housing on my right fog was having major issues. it had two breaks and a hole near the pin connection. i basically taped the whole wire as well as the pin after it was reconnected. went thru a few fuses but at least i did it myself. major thanks! rs4 & sawdust. cheers

ok, it's been a few weeks since I installed the DE's...after taping the connectors with electrical tape, they work great (for a week). I tried turning them on Friday...nothing. I checked the fuse, blown. Changed it again....blew it again. I haven't found the time to get back under car and remove the lights, but is this a common issue even after taping the connectors? I'm currently using the wireless remote...would I have this problem if I just hardwired it to my euroswitch?
