Is the square headlight grill still available? And how many styles are there (not include US style with turn signals)?

I love that look..I think its totally sweet..
my only chritisism would have been to leave the grille black and paint the headlight surrounds black as well..
I think that would look awesome!
any "full frontal" pics of this car..

There are two, with the one pictured being the rare of the 2.

Thanks. I think I remember the other one. Can I ask when they came out and whether they were for US Rabbit or Jetta or what? I couldn't find them in ETKA so I guess they're US-Spec, were they?

They are US spec only, 79-80. I believe model year is 1980. I have not been able to pin point the exact models that got that 3 bar grill. Maybe premiun cars like the LX versions. I do know the LX Caddy didn't get it cause mine is an LX.

I was looking at etka one day, and found that there is a different grill for cars with AC. They had a square grid type pattern. As opposed to my friends 80 with no ac, and different grill.... I have seen that grille at the junkyard, and they were of AC cars, also........ Just what I have seen so far.... tODD

square grills are hot...rock it for a while and max it out....MKII s have the right Idea going back to the 85 grill for that old school look....maybe we should look at what we have...My 84 is going in for body work and when it comes out it will have a 79 grill and headlights.

If thats your car, I'd leave it as is! I have a major thing for the '79-80 Rabbits. I've collected a ton of stuff for when I find a nice one, like grilles and an uncracked blue early dash and seats, etc. I believe the fenders are that same as the round ones, but the rad support is different.

The only difference in the fenders is that they are drilled for the '79-'80 turn signals.
