I use to play this game all the time, but a bunch of people started using cheats! 
I tried DL the newer version a few months ago, but it was limited to only a few players. I just downloaded the newer version. See you at the track!

I like this new version much better than the older ones. 
Just hearing the BOV and the NOS makes this game so much more fun to play. The only thing that really pisses me off is they got rid of the GTI! 
My car is running 11's but it should be faster. Any tips on launching my civic with mad HP?

I dont know if this is how you guys launch but I pull right up to the first green line and stop right on the line and put it in neutral. Then when the thing on the left switches to the two lane diagram I put it in 1st and dont push the gas. Then when the light turns to where you want it FLOOR IT it might take a second with a turbo. So, when I install my turbo, I have to floor it right when the second light just turns yellow.

Well I got my civic into the 9's with 509hp and a stock gear box. I then bought the "magic gearbox" but can barely break into the 10's. So one please school me on gear ratio's. I don't know poop!

in the game in drag racing your top speed isnt the name of the game, its who accelerates the fastest.
when you make a ratio higher, that is you make the number bigger and thus the gear lower, you accelerate faster, but lose top speed
converseley, making the gears smaller and thus taller, gives less accelertion but a higher top speed
what you need to do is find the optimum balance of speed and acceleration in each gear, and then you'll be able to run 8's like i am (as of today i average 8.4 in the civic and im builiding a 1000+ supra as we speak)
i love this gameohh and id be glad to make a vortex team, if there are enough people interested who run good numbers.....im on a team now....da dousches, hehe, and all of us run low 8's so players beware!

I've been playing this game for the past week and its quite addictive But I can't get my Civic to run fast than 8.705et @ 155mph. I've got 519hp with a 200shot of NOS and I no matter what gear ratios I got it setup as I can't do better than 8.705 seconds :\ I'm wondering how there are some guys online with 600+ hp civics

there used to be a bug where u could stack mods...that is you could have 2 turbos or 2 superchargers etc
thats how some ppl have soo much power, but thats suppossed to be taken care of soon by the modsim realllly addicted to this game now, soo fun
and play with the ratios some more, im running 8.37 at best now in the civic and my supra now runs 8.035 at best..so far

How much HP does your civic dyno at? I have all mods and can't squeeze more than 519hp.

Best time I got today playing with the gears: 8.669et I ran out of 6th gear just shy of the line, and may have been able to squeeze a bit more out of the car. I can't see myself running anything faster than 8.59 given all the perfect conditions. I don't know what those guys running in the 7s are doing to get so much more hp, may car is maxxed.

Is it just me or do they need a better server to handle the traffic? I've run 1 race and I've had it downloaded for a while now lol . Everytime I try it's overloaded with traffic... I don't really have the patience to sit around and keep trying I guess....
Edit> Eh, On a whim I tried to log in tonight and actually got in for a while. I royally suck, or I need serious help... haha Not a bad game but people on there take it WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too seriously...

Ah it's a free game I wouldn't complain about the servers just play in the off hours. I suck pretty bad too...I'm just wondering what is the point of making you car fast since you are racing against you Et?

You know what's kind of crappy and I don't know if it's just me, but when you are staging, you can roll forward and then lay on the brakes. The car will continue to roll forward even with the brakes on full and Pre-stage... uh, ok. Then with the brakes still on full it rolls forward and stages. Wow, some really crappy brakes... but I guess it could be sort of a helper so staging would be easier. Except, even with the brakes still full on the car continues to roll And will even roll out of staging, redlight and foul. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Yeah, I messed with it and realized it doesn't assume you're pushing the clutch it when trying to come to a stop... but oh well... it doesn't help me win at all anyway, against the computer racers anyways lol... I'm just going to delete this game. It's alright but I rarely get on when I try... and really, the game itself is an impressive piece of flash work but the people on there really need to get out and actually drive more, but then I remember most of them are 14 or younger and don't actually even have a license... (I don't mean that about anyone here) It's far more work to win money than I'm really interested in spending time on... but it is a cool free game and a cool way for Nitto to advertise...

this game is awsome, I am sick though because when it was in beta I had all the cars hooked all the way up including the skyline, but when the game hit the streets they cleared all the beta accounts to stock. Also it is way better to have supercharger so u can accel faster I have gotton 8.0 flat with the right ratio in the beta. If u guys start a team let me know e mail me

Heh, I managed to get hooked into this game afterall. It kinda hangs on you and once you start winning money even against the computer racers... it gets to be more fun. I joined up with the Bidness Men team just today. I've got a 518hp Civic using a supercharger... also have a 200shot of NOS that I rarely use because it means changing my gear ratios to be a little longer and I like running with just the SC. Not like filling the NOS tank is all that expensive... just kinda annoying changing ratios back and forth too. Pulling anywhere from 9.6 to 9.9 with the SC and 9.3 to 9 flat with the Nitrous...
If it wasn't for all the snow recently I probably wouldn't have played this game any more. It forced me to stay inside and not be able to go out, which in turn got me hooked into the game...

my R/T probably averages somewhere like .550 to .615. I have my moments where I completely fall asleep though and get like .800 and .900 or worse than I have my moments where I'm right on and I do like 5 or 6 runs in a row with near perfect Reactions... got a .500 once or twice... The timing can be tough, it's not a perfect sim of drag racing but I admit, it is pretty fun... Goobery, hot damn that's fast... is that with a S/C or Turbo? Nitro? I can almost get into eights when I use Nitro (200 shot) and the S/C together and Spray down the entire strip. Fastest was like a 9 Flat I think. Just getting the gear ratios correct I guess is what it takes...

Turbo with a 200shot. They key is to spray 'out of the hole' while keeping traction to reduce turbo lag. Some guys I hear are running low 8's but I can't break the 8.60's. I'll try a super-charger next since alot of time is lost at the launch because of the turbo lag and if spray too early you'll spin all the way down the track.

I've played with the ratio's alot and the one's I'm using now I think I have a bit more potential out of the car; but in reality, I've tried some radical things from 3-speed to 6-speed and everything in between and 8.60's is the best I can pull...There is only so much you can tune out of the car with gear ratio's. Some guys have higher HP civics, and someone before me said there is a bug that allows you to stack mods. I think is the only way anyone can break into 7's

Yeah I had some troubles when I got started too... the game is really "cold" from the get-go. You need to work at it for a bit until you get used to how things work. Then it warms up and gets a lot more fun.
Everyone has their own stragedy. I'll tell you mine, it seems to work for me, but I'm sure others do things differently.
When I'm staging, I roll forward and park the front tires (Black Line) Right on or just a tiny bit before the white line seperating the two green blocks in the staging area meter on the left of the screen. This next part kinda depends on how tuned your car is and how fast it gets off the line. From here on, reaction time is completely dependant on good timing. I'm guessing you have a Civic and that it's mostly stock. It's a dog off the line stock. What I do is when the second yellow light, is lit... just before it's going to go off I shift into first. Then when the third light lits, I wait a split second and then drag the accelerator up. What happens is this... When I shift into first, the car starts to roll forward really slow. By the time the third light, lights... you have creeped closer to the edge of the staging zone. So... if you timed it right and hit the accelerator sometime during the third light, by the time you roll over the edge of the staging area there will be a green light and you will get .550 or better or worse (hey, redlights happen).. All of this depends on your car though. You will have to test it out whenever you make your car faster because it will hopefully be leaving the line faster with improvements so your timing will change.
What I do for bracket time is use the time I run. Say in a stock civic your average run is like 15.65. Set your bracket time just slightly faster than that, like 15.63. If you set it too low you'll always lose, and the .63 is really important. Makes the race much closer and gives you a better chance than just putting 15.0. So you might do a couple runs to get a good average number to use as your bracket time.
The last thing I learned quick is that winning money from the computer racers really isn't too hard if you race the Cup Tournaments. The Amatuer one pays 100$ per win against the 3 racers and 500$ Completion. The Sports Division cup pays 1000$ completion bonus. During the competition you can run as many times as you want until you win, so you've got nothing to lose. When I had my bracket time and launch perfected I could finish the amateur Cup in like 5 minutes. There's 800$ in no time. When I got faster I did the Sport Division with the same time, like 5 minutes to complete the whole tournament.
Eh, thats a lot to read but I hope it helps some... Just remember when you take off the line you want to be in gear before you crank up the accelerator... it's amazing even a 160hp stock civic will spin it's tires all the way up the strip.

is anyone else having a problem with it "saving race data"? it seems like every one of my previous 5-6 races has done this, and of course i have to exit the game, and then try to get back in with all it's "too much traffic nonsense".....GRRRRRRr this is frustrating!

I just started out, just made an account. Might as well give it a try..... I'm all new to dragracing (ecpet for some testing in GT3), but a longtime racegame-player (Need For Speed, GranTourismo, etc). Seeing that dragracing is still really uncommon over here in Europe, I'll see how I'll do.....

come on, some people must have a good set of ratios for the gears, my civic is in the high 9s (never thought i would say that ), stage 2 turbo, 200 shot, and everything else under the sun....
also, anybody know to use the tec3 like its supposed to be used in real life or is it just there for show

It's just for show... the Tec3... I mean it adds some horsepower and torque, but I was really looking forward to setting up a couple stages of Nitrous, but it doesn't work that way... bummer

i use my civic as a consistency car with stock ratios, i ran a 9.34 with the stock ones, but i usually stick to running 11.9xx's for brackets

i've been trying to play this game after reading this thread, but after a few races the game freeze on me with the message "saving race data", danm and i was getting the hang of it.

It happens when their servers are busting ass and overloaded, which is pretty much all the time except for like 1st thing in the morning haha

thats the only time to play, oh yeah, SC is better then the turbo! 8.8 with sc and nos, 9.1 wth hks turbo and nos

I hate this game. I know this is a old thread but I need to vent. Reading this made me in the mood to try the game out again, however everytime I win a race against the computer I never see the money that I won. It does do the saving game datat thing then freeze but even when it doesnt freeze like that I dont win the money. pure crap.

Its all in the gear ratios and the shifting. I dont have my ratios anymore but if you look online you can find some decent ones. Then after that just practice.

keys are:up key = upshift
down key = downshift
brake is that little red button
and gas you gotta use your mouse to make it go up
currently running 10's (supercharger, 30psi)

OK i am bringin this back to life. I just started playing this game not too long ago and i am hooked I admit it. problem i am having is with my civic gearing. I once had it set to were i could run 8s with turbo and spray, but i messed with the gearing and things got off wack. I went to put my old gearing bak in but it just didn't take it the same. anyways who wants to share some civic ratios wtih me I have the turbo kit and the SC so i can swap back and forth.I also have a 880hp Rustang that run 8s with spray and 9.2 without. anyone care to help me out with some ratios?

Hey Guys, i used to play this ages ago and i had every car fully maxed out. I was a nitto junky and never got enuff....then they reseted the servers and accounts and now i'm starting out again.I Wanna know
SuperCharger VS Turbo - Which is better? I think SC
PS: New Mods like rims and Suspention tuning is cool but the lowering of the car looks like a cheesey photochop, and rims dont look right either.
I find that if i use my stock civic, i can make more money, i beat 8 second cars all the time with my stock civic, its more consistant then a modded one, its just funny.....lol
I use a stock car for the money and i am saving uo for the SKYLINE, OH MY!

I run a Viper in the mid 6's, I also have a Skyline and a Supra. Its a pretty fun game... I played it alot those first few days, then kinda lost interest, look me up my name in game is KiLLaAppOh, and supercharger is def better in this game.

Hey, all i just joined, Nitto1320 is a great game, I have serval accounts, look at this one hogan_06, i have some good cars, and the viper is 4 sale, if u want it email me, the best way to get around those stupid traffic messanges 
is to buy a membership, its not that much.

My roomate and I wasted a solid semester on that game a few years back. We would sit there for hours not saying a word, talking **** via AIM and racing. The worst part was that our desks litterally touched...pathetic but addictive none the less.
