BMW always has such balanced cars and with 500 hp the new M5 will be simply amazing.

Something about making the RPM's climb as high as they do in the M5 that makes me want one more then any current car on the market

I think that we should wait until the M5 is actually driven and reviewed. This poll is speculation at best. Remember it is not always the most powerful car that is superior.

I think the E55 is the better looking car, but chances are the M5 will be a superior driving car all around.

The E55 while getting descent reviews and being silly fast, I wouldn't exactly call it a home run.

of course it's speculation, but I feel like there is reason to say the M5 will be the better sports sedan. With all that power, I can't imagine a bimmer being ... bad

Torque is estinamted to be 500Nm, which IIRC is only about 370 Lb-Ft.

Merc quality has been in the toilet as of late.

I'd go with the M5 because I favor high revving engines to supercharged torque monsters.

The M5 will be the better driver's car, unless the F it up in a major way.

Your answer should have been neither-

I-Drive hasn't been very reliable-Not that Command has either-

I'd take either. They are both sick cars.

Backseets are always a big selling point for me, but has anyone ever been in the back of the e class. Very small for such a big car. I think my old jetta had more room. Don't know about the 5 series though.

I've never been in the back of the E-Class AMG, but I've been in the back of the E-Class 320... Not HUGE, but big enough for sure... you old Jeta had more room? MKIV? MKIII? or?

Slightly off topic, but I really find the brake lights on the M5 look alot like the brake lights on the WRX STI espescially at night when lit up. Sorry, I digress.

I'd like the M5 with the inteior of the E55. White leather, ebony wood. That would be .

We have a winner tell him what hes won ................ hahaha but really i couldn't agree any more. The interior on the E55 is gorgeous and getting to drive one regularly i can say the car is a beast but long before my dad had this car there has always been a bemer or two in the driveway so im gonna go with The bemer.

i wouldnt say "only" because the E39 M5 had 370lb as well and the car had 100 less horsepower and weighs about 200lbs more. i say 200lbs because on average the E60's are weighing about 200lbs less than the E39's.

also, if you remember the BMW press release for this car, they said that it will go to 200mph in less than 13 seconds, i think i read that an SL55 does it in 13.9

That is a CLK rear end, but the E55 rear end also looks soft. In fact the E-Class is really let down by it's rear end. It' so nothing. Now the SL rear end, that's a great looking rear end. The E-class rear end is so boring.

I'd take a black Porsche 996TT over both of those and own all y'all.
