The only thing about being so close to the enviroment would be driving in a heavy down pour and having a tractor trailer go by. Blek! heh

where do you put your stuff when you go on a road trip? I dont see any place in the car where luggage would go other than throwing it in the back seat.

All the A/B cars have been cool, but this is my personal favorite due to the fact that the owner scratch built it with the intent of doing long-distance road trips. That takes some cojones.

a 1999 Vw Rail? How is it a 1999? It's not even a model built by VW, is there something I am missing?

Why is it that regular companies have to meet all sorts of special crash standards for the US and hence don't import many desirable smaller cars, yet the US is one of the few countries in which a car like this could get licensed to drive on public roads?

I don't understand either... I'm sure it couldn't be licensed in Canada though... We couldn't get the Audi A4 Avant (station wagon) before the current model because the rear bumper didn't pass the Canadian safety standards... However we can easily buy a Smart where you sit about 2 feet in front of the rear bumper... go figure

Besides that, Congrats KEINREISAIRKEWLD, your car's real cool

Just realized that there was a topic about my buggy. The reason why it is a 1999 is beacuse that is when we fabbed it. I have some buddies that work over at the state titiling service.

The down pour did occur when I was in Tennessee at the base of the Smokey Mountians. What fun that was, but the best thing about this buggy is driving through the different little towns and stopping and talking to people about the car when I am pumping gas.

Thanks to every one for the great comments. I appericate them all!!!
