between a 944 turbo and Supra turbo... i think i'd take the Supra... however... i'd take this one above all...

http://vista.pca.org/stl/968t.htm even rarer is the 968 Turbo RS... apparently ONLY FOUR made

I'd have to pic the 951 over the Supra. I respect the Supra for atmospheric performance and a really sexy body, but it just doesn't appeal to me, I feel like it's too big to compare to the 951. As stated above the Supra is better compared to the 928. The last of the 928s, the GTS, had 350hp and boat loads of torque on board from its 5.4L 32V quad cam V8, it is still thought of as one of the finest V8s produced. The Supras 3.0 IB and twin turbos made 320hp and a good bit of torque, a good match for the heavier Porsche. At the time the two cars competed quite well, both were of the same size, had excellent style, lush interiors, and similar performance. The 928GTS wins points for exclusivity, the badge, but suffers for having a price tag easily matching the highest optioned 911 turbo of the day. The Supra wins over the 928 for being a real world beating sports car at a remarkable price. I gotta cut this post off, have a Spanish review to head off to, damn finals. Anyone want to try to finsih it for me.

who cares what most Badge Whore Porsche Owners give the 944, fact is...a 944's are better bang for the bucks then any 911's, the Turbo S is just as quick as a 930 Turbo from the same era, and handles better. check out autotrader, pristine, low mileage Supras & 944's alike are both selling for over 20K. as for anyone who considers the 944 an Audi, is ignorant at best.

not ignorant, there is good speculation that the 924 was engineered by/for Audi before ending up as a Porsche. You might ask 924 owners about a clarification. As far as badge-whoring, just look a few posts prior where a "toyota is a toyota" so there you go

Close, but no. The 924 was engineered by Porsche, for Audi originally. After the initial steps were taken towards development and production, Audi decided it did not fit in their line up and backed out. Due to the investment, and as it was turning into a very good car, Porsche continued and produced the 924. By the time of the 951S, it was as Porsche as one could get (All VW's Audi's and Porsche's of the time shared a significant number of parts.)The Supra never impressed me much at the time of it's release and still doesn't. Guess I didn't waste enough time watching F&F and fantisizing about Paul Walker to appreciate that bloated pig. I guess there's one thing it has over the 944, and that's that all it takes to go 9's in the 1/4 and beat Ferraris is a big intercooler and some ugly graphics.

You can't compare Godzilla to a T-Rex.. In JGTC, the GT300 944 is not even in the same class as the GT500 Supras. Personally, the Supra was ahead of its time in design. The 944 just typical bland German car.

The 944 might have looked bland, but technologically, it was far from. It took a decade before there were even cars in the same class on the market that made the 944 feel like it was an old car.

great name-calling! Are these the same pig-heads that'll take any Porsche over a Toyota since it is Porsche? I guess my 911 owning friends are pig-headed idiots cuz that what they feel about the 924/944s (rightfully or not). As far as the F&F thing, that movie ruined it for me as I was in the market for a used one about that time. After that movie, everybody jacked up the prices they were asking for just like the way the old Minis have appreciated since the new Minis were announced/introduced, which Im sure you're familiar with.

Bone stock, the Supra handles better. This may enrage certain people, but it's true. It also out handles the further refined 968. Even NSX and the venerable RX-7 are no match for the Supra. Toyota really hit it out of the park with the chassis. It still shines today.P.S. Oh the cruel irony of the 951 badge snob. He goes to PCA events, only to be maligned and mistreated by the 911 owners. Then he realizes, it's not really a Porsche club, it's a 911 club and there is no brotherhood toward the watercooled members whatsoever. Guess what? Beating them on the track doesn't make that go away, it makes them hate you all the more!

That Supra looks like it wasn't tuned by someone who wanted a show/audio car. I also think the term "over done" is a but cliche. When I think of a car being "over done" 100% of the time I see a car that is over done, not driving a car that is over done.I'd love to drive a car that is over done - 1,500hp rather than a car that is under done - 95hp

"f mystique and status symbol crap. give me the Supra and you can see my tailights." Unless you race a 944 Turbo that is actually modified. A lot of kids that have no idea what a 944 Turbo is think that until I educate them. Bone stock 944 Turbo vs. bone stock Supra Turbo, the 944 Turbo will win hands down in any type of race. Not to mention even the newest 944 Turbo is still almost 15 years old. A bone stock 944 Turbo runs 0-60 5.5, 1/4 13.5 and top speed 155+
