Something old, something new, no more blue....« »

Something original, or at least its new to me.. screw you if ya don't like it.. or if its not euro...

Was a nice day today, kicked the kids out an hour early, was the 1st day of class, told-em to buy the book they needed downtown or order it online.....

Washed/Wax in the shop space..

$14 E-bay, 1956 Hood Script.. Respect your Elders....

Ground off rear mounting pins, added 3M VHB Gray Tape.. X-acto...

My Ivory Tower, where I postulate.... And only teach out of a book...

Finally got rid of the god-damn blue pinstripes that the PO had put on, gotta work on the wonderful wheel-arch moulding next.. Got a cleaner bumper, and plan to level out the hood and lights this weekend if the weather holds out..

Yes, I debadged a week ago - only to rebadge...

Down, but not out...

I really, really enjoy my car...

Hope you liked looking at it too, have a good weekend!

I teach at a local community college in the Philly area. We have a generic auto tech program (ie, not based on one brand of car...).

Yea, the hood.. phew... tell me about it.

Its not a star, its a sticker, done *by* a star.

I think its alot harder to pull off the white paint and have evereyithing look lined up. Props to the owner for almost having a car with excellent proportion.

Re: Something old, something new, no more blue.... »« »

Thanks guys, glad it passes around here. I did this to my MK II waaaaay back in 1991. I got $h!+ for it at one show.. an aircooled guy *yelled at me* for having it on the car... man, some people get all twisted over dumb stuff...

Got the 'new' bumper on today, fun job. Found out why stuff is not lining up too well. Turns out the car got tweaked (well just the quarter) on the passenger side. I can see a real small fold down where it meets the grill and bumper. That's why it looks wrong.

Not too much I can do with it. Tried to get the lights a little more aligned.. PO used some real home made handy-dandy kinda mounts for the MK IV looks.. I think its better now. But the mounts are just poor.

Think wood screws and plastic soda bottles poor...

Also moved the tag down to the lower right.. That alone makes it look a few beers better.
