If you would like specific details of how to perform a tdi swap then please research what I have already done. Between the build Threads and the various forsale threads there is more information out there then I will ever remember to tell somebody. Plus I have not been frequenting the vortex as much now that I'm a father Please read as much as you can before contacting me. If you ask me something that was difficult in my swap then you will get an answer. If its something that I covered or consider somewhat common knowledge then I may not answer *****ABOUT THE PICS*****Shutterfly shrinks the pics after a couple days/weeks so here is a link to the photo album with all of the pictures. If there is a picture you want that isn't in there let me know and I'll add it. Pictures of my swaps: http://corradoalleysprojects1.shutterfly.com/ Forsale threads (talk about parts used) http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4170776 http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4051345 http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4170750 http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4051346 build threads: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3279771 http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3280013 http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2303271

I've actually thought about doing this too. What are your plans for it performance wise? If done right that thing could be a torque monster. Keep us posted for sure.

I got a chance to drive the Dieselgeek Corrado TDI a few years ago. Fun car indeed. I'm not sure if I have the sack to do something like that, though. Pulling a VR6 out of an SLC takes a lot of guts!

It's cool and all but I'd have a hell of a time yanking the VR out for it. I'd miss the growl too much.

Interesting fact number : Corrado VR6 Spindles will bolt onto a MK4 if you use the strut from a mk2/3/radoVR6 DS driveshaft swaps with 1999 mk4 TDIs no time I'll talk more about this later.

If done right? Out of the box they are a torque monster. I'm in the middle of a similar project. I'm yanking the VR6 out of my Passat and putting in a TDI. If I had another one, I'd put it in my Corrado. Way to go!

TDI folks should def look here. http://tdiclub.com/ These guys know how to make them run. My buddy Howard ( Atomicsushi here and there ) has the fastest TDI in North America , drop him an IM and he can tell you the formula for putting good power down.
Check your junk boys, A PSA http://www.icr.ac.uk/everyman/....html And remember this, Knowledge is power, and power corrupts. So study hard and be evil.

for now the goal is to just getting running stock. But.....a VERY good friend is an Upsolute rep with 2 TDIs and I already have an 11mm pump and a set of larger injectors so who knows what I will do. but for now stock with no issues is the goal.

I'm hopefully picking up the key this afternoon for the car from the dealer(Gary did not have it ) I have bypassed the intercooler that was ripped off in the wreck. I have replaced the PS A-arm that was bent. Now I just have to replace the PS driveshaft that was also bent...its about 2" longer then the SLC's PS axle. I have also replaced the battery wire that broke upon impact but this replacement is good because it turned the motor off before the impact of the wheels and intercooler so hopefully the motor is 100%. I have also epoxied the radiator (small break upon impact)to fill it with coolant to during some of my initial testing I plan to trim down the wiring harness while still installed in the MK4 so I can cut a section off at a time and then test run the car to make certain I did not cut into the important wires. This will make it much easier to swap over. I have a bentley manual for both but even still this gives me more of a sense of security that it will work when dropped into the SLC.The reason for getting the suspension straigtened is so I can drive it into the garage and also so it can make moving the car much easier.

I swapped in the corradp spindle, installed a new battery cable to feed the positive cable's distribution box on top of the battery box, a Beetle A-arm, bypassed the intercooler, repaired the DS axle, and made a G60 half shaft into a VR6 axle by swapping the outer joint and then made it longer to fit in the MK4 by using an old cv joint and some long bolts. That and a new key got the car driving this evening. The car sounds good and has no check engine lights.

the harness for the MK4 is pretty much 1 harness and separating out just the ECU, engine harness, Cruise control, and communcation's port is interesting. but its almost done and then I will test fire the donar car with the pared down harness and then the easy part of installing the mechanicals happens.
