Hot. Looks like its based on a B4 series Passat, although do I spy a longitudinal engine? That bay looks kinda like my old B3 90Q.

Seeing as how gas prices continue to rise and so do the sizes of small trucks (A colorado seems to be the sixe of a 70's full-size pickup), this would be another item that would be interesting to see if it would do well in the US market.

Small, economical pickup with decent (not odd like many pickups now) looks and easy lift over height, with potential diesel option.

Cool, but I'll sound like one of those "Bring over the Polo" guys now.

What I wouldn't give for a newer version of the caddy.

the Bx platform is long-since-developed derivative of the B1 platform. It has nothing to do w/ the A1 (old Rabbit Pickup/Caddy platform)

A reason why this truck wouldn't work in this country is that it is still car-based. The Colorado isn't that much bigger than its predecessor, the S10, though both generations were still body-on-frame trucks (like all mid- and full-size pickups still). One reason why the Rabbit Pickup didn't survive was this same reason, it simply wasn't structurally heavy-duty enough. (not to mention no 4wd/awd option).

It would be really exclusive to have one over here. Hm... may be one should import one (to Germany), drive it for one summer and then sell it for what you paid for...

Well, someone had the same idea:

Der VW SAVEIRO wird in Deutschland über den Importeur Cosmos Car ( +494121-438362 ) vertrieben. Der Importeur hat mit dem Saveiro 1,9 SD (64 PS-Diesel ohne Direkteinspritzung) die Euro3 - Hürde geschafft und bietet den Saveiro für knapp 14.000 Euro an.

Than you can swap the 2.0 16v in it and call it a day

Cade o fotos do modelo mais novo?

Where are the pics of the new ones or did they come out with one based on the latest Gol?

The latest Gol was a major disappointment styling wise, I'm just wondering if it looks any better in Saveiro form.

P.S. How are Corinthians doing, O Timao?

Whats the chassis, engine, trans in those?

Here are specs of engines http://www.globalautoindex.com...7&ass=

They're Totalflex engines which means they can take either Gasoline (Petrol) or Ethanol called Alcool in Brazil or a mixture of both.

As jetta9103 mentioned the chassis dates back to the 1st Passat designated B1 Passat which had a longitude north-south placed engine which the Gol inherited after 1st being release with an aircooled engine.

This chassis was 1st used in the Gol in 1980 then Voyage/Saveiro/Parati released in 1981-84 but received a major overhaul with new bodyshell in 1994(Gol) Parati/Saveiro in 1995 with minor facelifts since then.

The all new Gol family will borrow components from the current Skoda Fabia/Polo platform it will be released in 2007/08.

Bring it in under the "display" exemption from DOT there is NO time limit either....in some states like here in SC there are NO inspections so think about the possibilities
