DIY - Sideskirt repair due to rust, cracks, and age...I didnt do this because I had looked and the dealer told me that I could get a set of skirts for $350. Too rich for my blood. So then I was looking for a set of used skirts, I didn't need a whole set, just 1 part. So Found a thread with this pic - (I drew on it.,..)
Call or visit local VW dealer - order part #13 as shown (Left = Driver / Right = Passenger)
Old Skirt Top.
New Part.
Peel it off, its just help in place by plastic clips.

i did the same fix awhile back...just replaced the strips...didn't cost much $$ at all. to add oem sideskirts to a car without them you will have to either pay the $350 for all of the necessary pieces...or buy them used somewhere. nice work dan, another great quick and easy DIY that makes a big difference

you will probably never find them at a junkyard - ive been looking most yards use a forklift type atachment to pick up the cars that will destroy sideskirts like it's its job

1H0 853 995 for the left side 1H0 853 996 for the right side this is just the front cap, only a few bucks IIRC. the rear includes the strip which is why its much more expensive.

I feel the same way! I made a post a week ago on how my (driver side only) sideskirt was falling apart and I was convinced on taking both of them off, but certaintly not now. That's a real cheap, quick, and easy fix. Heres to you brutha

I don't understand why people just don't screw the caps onto the fender lip. This way you know they won't fall off from driving, and it makes it a little harder for them pesky theives to pop them off....
