No way! I would never. Would Bourdain do a line of signature dishes for Chilis? Not even for all the money in the world. The man has standards. I'm wierd though, I refuse to eat at chain restaraunts.

I currently work for them and there is no added MSG in our food.

BTW, He did sell his soul and I'm not happy with it but the food is actually quite tasty, if cooked properly. A lot of the problem with chains is not in the quality of food, it's in the quality of the cooks. No one is really trained or anything.

Let me clarify... as far as I know, it is not high in MSG. Mono-Sodium Glutamate is not listed as an ingredient in any of our foods. It's not on our allergy list either.

But Bourdain isn't man enough to eat & swallow durian. Didn't you see his attempt on "No reservations" on Travel Channel?

well, perhaps he thought he would bring his recipes to the masses rather than those spending $50 per plate without any sides.

Just because someone can cook and is noted as a "tv chef" doesn't mean they don't want to deliver their foods to as many people as possible. Plus, he will sell more cookbooks. Think about how many famous Chef restaraunts are near you and then think about how many Applebees are around.
Perhaps he will look cheap but he can now serve his recipes to many people instead of a select few.

Yeah. Bourdain said that he loves the stuff. You are probably thinking of that big bald dude on that Bizarre Foods Asia show that was on Travel Chanel.

And Bourdain wouldn't do signature dishes for Chili's, it would be for TGI McFunsters

OK, my wife and I went to Applebee's last night.
I thought Tyler would have more menu items than just 4-5.
Anyway, my wife got the brischetta burger and it was Great!
THe parmesean Cheese topped Fries were not...basically a smaller amount of fries in a crock with shaved parmesean cheese plopped on top.

Another note to all the Chef snobs on this thread......All the Top Chefs do not cook the food in all their resturants. Beleive it or not, they may not even cook the food you eat at their pricey resturants.

No kidding....do people actually think that when they have dinner at Babbo, Mario actually cooks the very meal that they are eating?

ha ha, I remember you posting that pic before. I think Tylers cool. In fact, it makes me want to go to applebee's just to try his dishes. I don't have any love at all for applebee's, so I think this is a good move for them.
