Some info is in the coverage article, but basically that was/is a North American spec MkV R32 that VWoA brought for display and to support our event. It was painted white temporarially to guage reaction at some different meetings, etc...

Let's just say it was on display in the color for a reason and a little birdie told me its strongly being considered as an optional color for North America...

Saturday I saw an A3 S-Line (3.2) with optional CHs. It Maybe they will be an option on the R32 as well. That would be nice. No hubcentric rings.

The R32 was never sold in Canada because it was never built with Canadain spec bumpers. We have a really stupid law in Canada that makes our bumpers slightly more durable than those in the US.

VWAG produced the R32 in a factory that wasn't exquiped with the ability to bolt on the Canadian bumpers. Plus they didn't bother to spend the huge $$ required to develop a new bumper just for Canada.

It's a sad state of affairs. I've always said VW should sell all North American cars with Canadian spec bumpers. Then they could brag to the Americans about exceeding the US bumper laws.

I doubt he was back there for very long...

What fun, I'm jealous ... the local track here in St. Louis, Gateway, is enough to keep the addiction going, but nothing like VIR!

Looks like that car / driver combo belonged in another run group, the way you sliced through the field

The car's power and flat cornering came through in the video ... nice commmercial for EIP

If I was going to do it over again, a lightly supercharged R32 is what'd I be driving!

This is great stuff -- I am really glad to see VWoA get involved in events like this! How can I go about getting such an event organized on the West coast? I am in the Portland (Oregon) area and there are tons of VWs/Audi's araound here. Does not hurts that Portland International Raceway is 10 mins from my home!

Is there someone I can contact to get the ball rolling for a similar event in our area?
