Tekken 3 owned my life for a year and Tekken 4 was the best PS2 launch game by far. I played that thing until I realized it was just Tekken 3 with better graphics

Tekken 3 was the last one that I really enjoyed.
After that, the game relied far too much on pre programmed button combos.
I preferred the fluidity of DoA and the advanced blocking/countering in Virtua Fighter.

im pretty sure tekken is a playstation exclusive

Motion capture and animation wise the DOA series > Tekken series.

Otherwise, gameplay Tekken is deeper but lately DOA4's gameplay has been very good too.

I wouldn't have been that suprised if they had been new screens for a beat em up on the original Xbox - or even Dreamcast

I would have thought "looks quite nice i suppose..", assumed they were still getting all they could out of those consoles, but not given them a second look really.

Don't worry, Virtua Fighter 5 is coming to Xbox 360 anyways. Plus, Soul Calibur 4...(rumor, but very likely)

VF > Tekken

Even tho I prefer Tekken, VF is a better game.

But otherwise, those screenshots look terrible. Looks like a PS2 game running in HD. Seriously.

I was going to get VF5, but it got less than stellar reviews. Looking more like a rental now.
I will be downloading Tekken 5 DR from the playstation store for $15 though.

It got an 88 on metacritic which is not bad at all

After all the hype I told myself 90 or better to make the purchase. It came up short.

I'll just settle for my shallow Tekken 5. I must not be a "sophisticated" gaming fighter, that or I just have better things to do.
