The 25 millionth Golf rolled off the Volkswagen production line in Wolfsburg on 23 March.The very first example of the production Golf was assembled in 1974 and within three years volume totalled a million vehicles. I thought Toyota was claiming that. Of course, the Golf has evolved over the years, but the Toyota Corolla from one generation has nothing to do with any other generation. (Other than being a 4 wheeled 4 cyl car.)

VW Beetle was world's biggest selling car, then the Golf. TOYota has a long way to go to acheive what VW started so many years ago, TOYota never inovated anything, they copy. VW first high quality econo car, first to use electronic fuel injection in a production car, all kinds of inovations, TOYota is nothing but wait till someone elese invents it, then we make it. Boring

So far Toyota has built over 35 Million Corollas. http://www.automotoportal.com/..._Ever
As usual VW is in 3rd & 4th place in a five car race.
But the VW Bug and the Model T are the only "real" record holders.
Golf, F150, and Corollas sheet metal changes every 2 to 7 years, only the name is the same.

I can count for two of the 25 million. I was able to visit Wolfsburg last summer and what a place it is. It is so big. It's a must for the VW nut.

I wish I had there address I would write and tell them how disappointed I was with mine. My 07 Jetta in the shop once a month.
2007 Wolfsburg -put together badly, Dealer is no HELP, and can not do there job  QA/QC ?
