 While most people living in the northeastern United States were shoveling snow from their driveways, a small contingent of driving enthusiasts and pro racers and their teams were making their way south for a very rare and unique opportunity. On December 7 through 9, 2007, the Ohio Valley and Florida chapters of Audi Club North America held the first ever driver’s school at Daytona International Speedway. The event was the culmination of several years of tireless work by the organizers and other individuals in an effort to convince the administration at Daytona to allow such an event. Full story...

how much is it to do (participate) in an event like this.....do you bring your car or.....?? I would love this

The Daytona event was $999 for three days on track (two 30 minute sessions on Friday and four each day on Saturday and Sunday). I know HPDEs run by my local track (BeaveRun in Pittsburgh) run around $180 for a day, which is 5 20 minute sessions. Do a search for a local track and see what they offer. You can participate in your own car, or some tracks have cars to rent (as my local track does with Mazda 6s). Have fun!

I have walked up the banking and been to Daytona many many times... it is hugely steep. And it's one of the tracks I wish I could do some laps on. Nice article and it looked like a blast. The S4 looks amazing as well.Will there be another?

"All signs point to yes." The word as we let Daytona was they want the club back this year.
The cost is not too bad... but it's not cheap either. It actually worked out really well between T.C. and I. We split the cost and of course the sessions. In the end we both got plenty of track time and saved some bucks. The event overall was top notch. Craig and the Audi Club guys/gals are amazing.

nice tc, pity I won't get to visit w/ you again at a US GP (f1). That's a track day I wish I had known about or been able to do, good to see sidelines sports there and the Janica racing R32. I haven't seen either in a while, and it looks like they have been busy on the R. If you see the sidlines guys again ask him to show you the 24h of Nürburgring w/ Uve Alzen passing another porsche on the outside at like 150mph - maybe he'll still have it. looks fun

I just learned the event will happen again this year... second weekend in December. Start saving those pennies.
