I bought it for our 98 Jetta VR6 and ended up getting the wrong chip, because instead of physically getting the ECU# I scanned with vag-com and didn't know there was already a chip in the car (a stock engine chip for the wrong year installed by previous owner). Therefore I bought a chip for a K ecu instead of the N chip I needed.
The vendor refused to swap for the correct chip or give a refund, so I had to buy the N ecu chip out of pocket, and now I need to sell this one.
I did try to install this chip before figuring all of this out, so thats why it's "practically" brand new. The car would not start with this chip so there are effectively 0 miles on it. I will accept a return if there is something wrong with the chip due to me trying to install it, but I don't expect that to be the case.
This chip complements cars with cams in the 262-268 degree range. We run ours with autotech 262s and there was a very noticeable difference, even though the car already had a stock engine GIAC chip previously. According to this chart, the chip is intended for a 96 Jetta/Golf VR6, but I strongly suggest you confirm your ECU part# ends with K so you don't make the same mistake I did!
I would like to get $100 shipped. That's $30 off due to my mistake.
