Heading out to central Pennsylvania’s Volksfest show is a bit like stepping back in time. Beyond the prodigious mix of great-looking early water-cooled VWs and masses of vintage air-cooled cars, Volksfest offers a refresher on the roots of the VW show scene.
I've gone to every major North-East show, and now the West coast shows as well, but Volksfest is still top-of-the-list for a fun chill scene. George, you hit the nail on the head! I've attended almost every Volksfest since the original in the back lot of then Autohaus Harrisburg, and I'll never forget the excitement of waking up early those Saturday mornings and driving through Hershey to Campbelltown. I've attended as a spectator and helped with HAVOC, but showing off our various GTI's, Cabriolet's, and Corrado's over the years was the best part. And I agree about the sunburn!
