Fuels And Alternative Energy Forum« »

For discussion of gas prices, gas vs. diesel vs. electric vs. hybrid vs. fuel cell, Prius-love, Prius-hate, etc. One "gas price thread" is clearly not getting it done. These topics deserve their own forum.

We need 200 "yes" votes to add it.

Vote!

Edit: it might be possible to roll-up discussion of oils, etc. into this as well.

Good idea. It would also be a magnet for all those snake-oil fuel efficiency gizmos, but that's probably unavoidable.

It seems like too much of the material that would fill this forum would be just as appropriate for the Car Lounge.

We could make it more technical...people actually doing things and posting about them.

Got my vote.

Vote YES for Regional Sub-Forums in TCL for more specific discussion about trackdays, shows, GTGs, autocrosses, shops, etc. Over 15,000 views, but less than 200 votes. Let's get voting.

Thought that I'd bump this to keep it going. It would be nice to get all the anti-oil whackjobs in one place so that I can be more efficient in my e-thumping.

Thank you, MA.

What's an anti-oil wackjob? I hope you're not refering to people who want to save oil for plastics and lubrication and use more renewable fuels for motve power.

I'm talking about the people who take a wholesale ignorant approach to oil and gas production, mix it with a bunch of ad hominem rhetoric about "eeevil big oil", and then spit out proclamations about why we're all going to hell.

For the record, the kind of oil that we use for synthetics is usually extremely low-grade crude that we don't often refine into gasoline. I think that saving one for the other doesn't commonly apply. I could be wrong though since I don't really follow the downstream model much. That's just what I've been told in passing by those who do.

I haven't found any CNG kits for turbo cars on the market. I might have to make one...
