Sweet ride man

Only suggestion I have is you need to color match the eyelids, they are a totally different color (MK5eyelids.com i would guess? they sent 3 pairs of 'matched' eyelids before i gave up)..

Very quick around Shenandoah circuit, I must say. Very impressed with the 2.0T GTIs on the track (I own one, but track the Scirocco). You, in particular, were really moving. Nice to meet you up there...love the car.

Since every post on here is congratulatory, can I offer some criticisms, otherwise, what's the point of having a thread dedicated to this ride?

Since you described your car as "clean", I thought I'd tackle that.

clean = your rear with the black exhaust valence contrasted with the dark tinted hatch glass. I always thought Tornado red looked great when its only colors were black and red.

unclean = Reiger bodykit, ABT lip, BBS CH rims (overplayed and BBS bike spoke type rims are the antithesis of clean), and eyelids (tacky); I think black Huffs or black 5 spoke wheels would really clean this up

Thanks for all of the comments guys.

This little writeup was done a few months ago. Since then, some things have changed. First, I have taken off those eyelids (and am very glad I did) as well as sold those BBS wheels to Crabpot and put on some 19" OEM Helios wheels.

This week I will be making some adjustments to the looks of the car as well as making it more feasible for the track. I'll be spraying my stock lowers (lip and skirts) and replacing the Reiger skirts and ABT lip.

Here are a few pics of how the car looks now with the Helios:

And some from the track:

Thanks again for the comments (and criticisms).

If some one from Vortex wants to, they can add these pics to the main story.

Congrats, Meatstick!

But I gotta ask....

What/where is that racetrack? The pic makes it look like you're taking on "Motorland" in GT4 I'm an old ex-SCCA racer, and I thought I'd seen them all....

Car looks solid and well prepared. Nice job.

Cool! Summit's sure changed a lot since the last time I was there...sounds like it's time for a visit!

The first time I went to Moroso, I went with a guy who still called it "Palm Beach International"...

An excellent choice, if I do say so.

Good chatting with you at the track, Greg. Nice car, too.
