JAGUAR XJR 400HP SUPERCHARGED V8 ALLUMINUM BODY 40% LIGHTHER THAN STEEL IM CONSIDERING« »

Im considering purchasing the Jaguar XJR 400hp Supercharged V8 Alluminum Body with tons of options. And its very reliable bc it uses BMW 6 Speed ZF Transmission. This car is really fast and the best used car bang for the buck. This car retailed at $85K and now can be purchased under $15K. This is cheaper than a used 3 Series BMW, Audi A4, C-Class Benz.

Here is one that sold for $14500 recently.

Well from my understanding the car is very reliable then most German Cars. Jaguar has improved on the newer body cars in terms of reliability.

$15k? Heck, go for it!

BTW... BMW does not make that transmission. It is just ZF and it goes into other luxury marques, also.

So the transmission shouldn't give you any worries. Just keep in mind that the rest of the car is made in England. That's bad. We're talking about a country that built a re-badged version of the Acura Legend and they screwed it up to the point that it was one of the biggest lemons ever sold in the US.

Have you owned an early MkIV in the past? Or maybe a tired, used Corrado G60? That would at least give you a taste of what owning a Jaguar is like.

My suggestion is to do some research. Find a Jaguar forum and ask owners about their XJR's and find out where the problem areas are.

Unless you're a certified Jag mechanic, or have mad staques of cash for maintenance and repairs I'd suggest getting a 300C for all your tyte baller needs. Throw on some 24s and you'll be set.
