Yes, eight valves of fury and pushing it to the limits. Hmm, so my motor is a 1.9, the head is from a 1.8 and the bottom end is from a 2.0.

just a reminder for those that are camping.... please let me know when we get to Point Reyes that you will be camping with us. Need to know how many people and cars are with you. Will be meeting up around where the buses park at about 4:15 and leaving for the campground at 4:30 raining or not. It should not be raining.

ALSO I will be bringing Hamburgers and a few veggie burgers for those that want them IF the store I stop at in Ukiah has them along with buns and condiments. If you want to bring drinks(alcohol or not) and chips and dip please do.

After class, brake job, coolant flush, cap/rotor/ign. timing, rad. fan switch, thermostat, reinstall stock airbox, uninstall rsr outlet, reroute tubing, then smog my car...

Then I get to go back home and undo all that stock crap and go back to superawesome! Oh, and spend the rest of the day cleaning my engine bay, wash, wax, vac., shampoo, GRAH!

yeah, we'll be rolling through Ocean beach so we can meet up in the lot across from The Beach Chalet between 10:30 and 11:00. as long as nobody minds rollin' with a BMW or two and a Porsche. we are going to take Lincoln through sea cliff straight to the bridge. and then in Marin we'll take the Stinson beach route.

Apparently the map to the park and ride from last year is way off. I am working on fixing it right now. For those of you that dont know the park and ride is on the east side of 101 at the Smith Ranch Road/Lucas Valley Road exit. Just get off 101 and head east its less than 1/4 mile from the highway and I will probably be the first one there this year again so look for a red mk3 4 door golf with black roof and hood and that will be me.

Well all today was fun. If I do it again next year I will plan things a little better. I think we left the park and ride a little early. I should have waited at least another 15 minutes. Location will be different. My car is not all that low but I would rather not break anything out there mainly because of the lack of cell phone service. Any recommendations for a better location are welcome. I cant remember who but I had a few people mention a good spot on the coast just south of San Francisco. Basically I am looking for a location that we can all meet up somewhere and cruise out as one big group.

Actually, the turnout was very good. What he means is that Point Reyes is just not too friendly. No cell coverage, and not a lot of help around if a car breaks down.

It happened to our group, one of the cars broke on hwy 1 going up hill, not a lot of space to take the car out of the road

About the other location, here's something from other thread.

we've been thinking about this spot...its central ( Hwy1 half way between Santa Cruz and HMB), its scenic, its a huge lot, its free and there are no rangers manning it...sometime spring or summer.

Yeah I think I counted 85 cars this year. The current economy may have something to do with it along with alot of people not liking the location. That road is hell on my car. I feel sorry for the majority that are lower than me. Who ever was in the white mk2 that we caught up with I heard him scrape a few times.

If Jon doesnt mind I am willing to take over planning setting up and all that. I am going to start now planning it so things work out better. I would like everyone to be able to meet up at one location and all of us drive out to the g2g instead of a group here and a group there. Unless people would rather have seperate groups instead of one big one.

I think I may make a new post where everyone can give their input on what they would like to see next year. NEXT YEAR WILL NOT AT POINT REYES. Sorry to the diehards that like it but that road is hell.

85 cars counting mk3/mk4/mk5/misc vag?

Bonelli had 100 plus I believe and that was purely mk1/mk2/scirocco and a few corrados.

Also, try to find a place where you can park the cars in rows, not some semi circle with some random rows in the center. Helps for getting to meet people and what not.

Just my .02
