Ikea to enter the car business?« »

Quote, originally posted by Le Blog Auto translated by Google »
Soon a brand new car? In fact, Ikea is about to enter the market. Information to take the precautions, was a teasing of the most unclear.

The Swedish brand is best known for its furniture kit. A philosophy of design furniture in simple, accessible to everyone. That said, Ikea is expanding on many fronts, including all accessories for the home. So the car Ikea, information or brainwashing?

Let the elements we have at hand. Already, she called Leko. It would be "accessible to all and respectful of the environment." This would be "the easiest way to go to Ikea. Scalable to the environment, [it is] to both break and cabriolet. The environmental side is supported by a partnership with WWF France (which is not limited to Leko, Ed)

Doubt occurs with other elements. First, the date of revelation, though close to the first April we could raise doubts if it did not sign the beginning of the week of sustainable development. Another source of uncertainty: a site that seems Franco French. The key words "Leko", "Leko Ikea", "Leko car," Leko drive "or" Leko fahren "do on Google, to any foreign page report to the event.

In short, there is uncertainty in the total and we have no choice but to wait for more. Real new car? Rental service? Auto sharing? Tracks can be numerous. Meanwhile, the car Ikea, in the collective imagination, it is this:

We suck at building furniture, lets build a car

Maybe GM needs to get into the furniture business?

Forgot about that. Ok i guess having furniture manufacturers doing cars and car manufacturers doing furniture is not a big deal then.

I'd buy a reasonably priced kit car. Only if it was for fun use only. i.e. roadster, etc.

laugh now.. but IKEA has a **** TON of money. and they pay near NOTHING in taxes. The family that owns IKEA is one of the richest in the world. If any company has the funds to start a car company.. it's them.

And with money.. they can BUY their own expertise.

Sure, but the shipping will be 3 times more than the cost of the service tech.

Do you guys realize that lots of "bloggers" out there actually think this is the Ikea car?

They're saying "it looks like a 20 year-old volkswagen"

Ask my bed! It was less than 2 yrs. old and the rail cracked.

Fix it then.

My bed is 5 years old and it's fine. Before you complain about lack of sex etc, don't go there....it gets major action every single day (4 kids to prove it).

I'm actually surprised how well it has held up for such a cheap unit (Malm/particle board)

I'm surprised Ikea would have such an ambitious venture on the table right now. Hopefully they won't have to shelve it given current global economics.

While the young Fiesta gains strength, the Focus must protect it from the F-150 Raptors that stalk the water holes. Fiestas are able to drive from birth, but are weak and slow, and until they are three months old they are vulnerable to predators. Soon, though, they will join their parents to follow the coming of the rains.

Ikea will not make the first turbo couch. Buick did it first with the Park Avenue Ultra.
