Up for sale is a 1988 Jeep Wrangler. 4.2L inline 6, 5-speed transmission, 4WD. Currently showing 93,XXX miles. Mostly stock -- modifications include a MotorCraft 2100 carburetor, Nutter Bypass ignition (both are common upgrades to get rid of the hard-to-tune Carter carb and computer-controlled ignition), and cable-actuated locking front hubs (replacing the faulty vacuum system). THE GOOD:
Recently replaced radiator, water pump, brakes & brake lines.
New BesTop soft top with tinted windows (installed Spring 2008).
Newer BesTop bikini top and mounting hardware.
Full steel doors with glass windows, plus hard top.
Windshield mounted light bar with 4 KC Competition lights.
New carb & ignition upgrade means easy starting and running.
New exhaust including factory catalytic converter.
Add-A-Leaf kit (sits ~1" higher than stock, no sag in front or rear springs).
Greasable spring shackles (no squeaking or rattling)
THE BAD:
RUST -- floorboards were patched with replacement panels from QuadraTec, but the mounts for the front seat belts are starting to go. Driver's seat belt mount rusted entirely through, front passenger's is bubbling. Otherwise, a few cosmetic rust spots, most notably in front of the left rear wheelwell. Starts & runs, but no choke currently installed -- takes some babying to start in the cold. Because of the bad seat belts, I don't want to sell this as a daily driver, and because it's a 21-year-old Jeep it will require some tinkering.
Clean title in hand; PA inspection expired in February 09.
PRICE:
$1,750 for the Jeep with doors and soft top only.
$2,000 with soft top, hard top, bikini top, and spare parts (extra wheels and some other miscellaneous stuff)
