 42DD Resonator Delete Pipe - Video« »

Just put this one yesterday and i love it! great way to get some sound out of the car for a modest price. way, way way less then any catback out there. The pipe itself is high quality, all the bends are smooth. and the clamp that comes with it is beefy. Install took about 25min with a lift.

I have a Neuspeed P-Flo on and an A3 Throttle body pipe on my car. the car sounds great low in the RPM range. and once it higher in the range it nearly the same as stock. no drone on the highway. You dont have to speak any louder. With the radio set at a normal level you hardly even hear it unless your really beating on the it.

here is 5min of me driving around. the mic on the camera sucks but you get the idea.

I installed this pipe about a month ago and everything you said is true! No cabin drone at all and for around 100$ its def much cheaper than a full catback, love the sound.

the $100 one is just a pipe that removes the stock resonator. the other one replaces the stock resonator with a "sport" one. I have the cheaper straight pipe one

i just had a straight pipe welded in place of the resonator. Is the 42DD pipe the same thing? I got mine cut off and re-piped for 80 bux. Granted, it now drones a little. But it sounds really good. DSG farts are funny. Next on my list is an intake for engine/turbo sound.

even if it rusts...you can buy 5 of these for the price of one catback setup. If each pipe lasts 2 years then your set until 2019.

I have gotten so many compliments on the sound. im very happy.

aluminized steel is usually cheap steel with an aluminum coating. if the aluminum is scratched and the metal underneath is exposed to the elements,it will rust the metal and eventually work under the remaining aluminum top coat...

 Re: (darkk) »« »

Taken from Wikipedia...

Aluminized steel is steel that has been hot-dip coated both sides with aluminum-silicon alloy. This process assures a tight metallurgical bond between the steel sheet and its aluminum coating, producing a material with a unique combination of properties possessed neither by steel nor by aluminum alone. Aluminized steel shows a better behavior against corrosion and keeps the properties of the base material steel for temperature lower than 800 °C. For example, it is commonly used for heat exchangers in residential furnaces, mufflers, ovens, ranges, water heaters, fireplaces, bar-b-que burners, and baking pans.

Just a quick question for you guys, is this any different than just getting my resonator deleted from a local shop?

the only difference might be the way they bend it. the 44DD pipe is all smooth bends were the locals might do it with crush bends.

in my adventures i couldnt find a place to do it for less then $80 and they wouldnt do the smooth bends. I just said screw it paid the extra $20

Oh, ok. Yea, that would make sense. Thanks!

My local shop said they would do it for $70, but wouldn't it be more $ for me to buy this and pay install on too?

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the install WhiteJettaMK3?

the install is super easy. i did it on a friends lift in 15min. all you need to do is make one cut and then pull the stock exhaust down and put the new pipe in.

Oh, ok! That doesn't sound too bad. Did you weld the new pipe in place? Or did it come with some sort of connector piece?
