My new Lime Rock Green Gen Coupe w/ black wheels« »

SO I picked up the last Lime Rock Green Genesis Coupe on the lot last night. It's a 2.0T base model and my first manual car. I've been out practicing for 3 hrs and slowly getting the hang of it. SO MUCH FUN! The dealer had already powder-coated the stock rims black, and although they look really nice, the dealer wanted to charge an extra $1000 for them. I said no thanks, but since parts dept was closed, I'm going in Tues to swap them for stock rims.

**UPDATE**

Dealer dropped down the wheel price to $828. Still too much for powdercoated wheels? Or $23/mo on 36 mo.

Keep, swap, keep, swap...I cant make up my mind!

**UPDATE 2**

The salesman called and asked whether I wanted the wheels, I said no thanks and he asked me to keep the wheels on for a few more days, in case I change my mind.

Honestly, I'd keep the black wheels. Or go get the silvers ones powder-coated if you can get it done for cheaper than $1k.

It looks good.

I like the black wheels personally.

And that's a great ****ing car. Drove one a few months back at the Gen Coupe Driving event they held. Really really fun. I like the 2.0T over the 3.8.

If I had the money, I'd consider replacing my kouki with one of those.

How much did you actually get to drive at the drive genesis event? My funds ran a bit dry right before it so I decided not to go.

Cool car by the way, congrats. I personally prefer the black wheels, I would also remove the badging on the back and tint the windows but thats just me.

Very nice. Too bad it is just the base model, however, still a nice car.

The black wheels look good, but not $1000 good. Like others have said, take them back, get the stock ones and then when you get a $1000 to spend on some wheels, go get a nice set of light weight ones to really transform the ride.

You probably won't see another car like it unless you go to a Genesis meet.

How is the pep in the 4cyl turbo? When do things really come alive?

one way to make an ugly car even worse is by choosing puke green for the color. If you really want to make the car look bad though, just swap out the black wheels for some that dont flow with the colors of the car...oh wait
