WELCOME to the official page of the Forza Motorsports 3 XBOX Live VW MK1 GTI Cup Series!
This series is brought to you by "Michael Blue" and is in the spirit of the MKV GTI Cup Series many of the members of VwVortex ran in FM2.
All are welcome to join and race with us, but weekly scheduled events will be "Invitation Only".
To be invited, simply be one of the 8 most active racers the rest of the time, race clean and be competitive with the group.
The "track" and "series" information on this page is in reference to the Invitational Series only; of course all tracks are welcome during casual play.

Volkswagen MK1 Rabbit GTI
The car has been modified specifically to offer just enough power and grip, without being too easy to drive quickly.
This is a SPEC series; ALL CARS must have IDENTICAL modifications to compete.
This is achieved by swapping in an A2 chassis 16V engine and modifying it - and the car - with the following modifications...

The tracks in this series have been chosen to take advantage of the strengths and weaknesses designed into this Cup package.
Most will be of medium length and high difficulty, with few straights or long uphill sections.
Occasionally a track completely out of context for this car (such as a Speedway) will be chosen just to mix things up a bit.

The Series
This is really all for fun, but I'd like to add a hint of formality this time around...
Once a week or so, you will receive a notification of the Series details, including the time (CST) and tracks for that week.
If you receive this email, you are invited for that week's Invitational. If you cannot make it, please let me know ASAP so I can find an alternate.
These will be run in "Carreer" mode with "TruSkill" ranking turned ON. Grid position will be determined by TruSkill rank.
Weekly Invitational Series will consist of several events, each at a different track, each slightly longer than the usual 4-6 laps we did in FM2.
The final event will be something of a mini-endurance race; taking about an hour or so.
The entire affair will be designed to be entertaining and challenging, and take roughly 3 hours total.

All drivers are volunteers, and there are no real "trophies" for this Series, unless Turn10 sees us and wants to get involved. ;-)

Teams must be 4 drivers and all must be present for Team events - to be announced later.

Post in this thread with your gamertag and desired # (make sure it's not in use on the website provided) to be included.

I didn't think I made it into any of those photo's. Unfortunatly, my 360 got the RROD the week FM2 came out. It took almost 6 weeks to get a replacement and it seemed most people had moved on by then.

It's kind of funny, all the games I play on live and the only people I ever put on my friends list are Forza racers.

Helps to have a list of people that won't turn a race into bumper cars.

You could always have the host invite you. Or browse through the host's friends list. Either way I don't think it'll be a problem since enough of us have at least a few VMG'ers on our lists.
