We all knew 12V was going to be quick.

Definitely figured. I have 400s of a second in order to match him which is HUGE on such a short circuit. Didn't really have time to mess around with the rabbit yesterday. But surely today I will. I'll be on from about 4 until 8 or so today (est). If anyone wants to test n tune today lmk. Gt is retro16v. I may just start my tune over from scratch since I'm not really pleased at all with it. Kinda feels like an uncontrolable wet noodle.

Yeah...that doesn't mean I can't run with him though.

He is about 3 tenths faster than I am around Tsukuba, not much but enough that a 10 lapper would have us significantly separated. I know I can find that much time in the tune (and my driving) somewhere.

This is fun, the gloves are coming off and we haven't even run an 'offical' event yet.

Edit - I should be on most of the night. I will be getting some more money from career and getting this rabbit setup better. You can find my GT, Nightwraith01 on the metatag if you want to run some laps.

well done! so you'll be posting your tune after breakfast?

I'm willing to bet very few could drive the tune on this car. Its on the edge of out of control. Just the way i like it... I did find out one thing. Don't tune it like a FWD. Tune it like a RWD. It will stick the ass of the car to the ground a lot better.

Hey, I'm with you. I did play around with turning off ABS and TCS last night. The first lap was...comical . But after that, I slowly improved on each lap. I didn't quite reach the times I was getting with the assists on, but I could definitely see how it could be faster (I never got a really clean lap in). It just takes a little more finesse and discipline.

Would someone like to share a good "base" tune for this car? I started out with values close to default (tweaking things a little bit), then I took a look at the recommendations from the ForzaTune iPhone app and they were way different. I gave them a try and actually improved my time a bit, but I still feel a bit in the dark on the whole tuning side of things...

For those of you who are curious but don't use iPhones, or who don't really care (), here's the ForzaTune recommendations ("F/R" where applicable):
Tire PSI: 28/29
Camber: -.9/-.9
Toe: 0.1/0.1
Caster: 5.4

Anti-roll bars: 9.89/10.38
Springs: 329.7/345.9
Rebound: 5.72/5.9
Bump: 3.81/3.93

Diff: 30/0
Brake bal: 47% (front)

I found my own tune was faster, but the ForzaTune one is really friendly to drive (compared to my own at least, which is kind of a jerk). Might be handy to have around for learning courses, etc.

Yeah I am tuning a bit now. I ran that 'default' setup and was about a second or two slower but I did keep it a bit more on the track (at Tsukuba). Really soft though, I am running nearly double or triple some of those numbers.

I'm looking forward to racing with all of you. Don't assume my tune is any good cause of the paint...lol...I spent most of my time on this car staring at the roof editing vinyl groups. Its all bark and no bite. Now for some tuning, lol.

No qualifying, per se. Mod list and all info on the car is at http://www.michael-blue.com/GTI-Cup.htm

Just be online to run with us from time to time and you'll get invited to "official" events when they happen.

This is mostly just for fun, so we can all run together and learn tuning tips from each other (this car is very difficult to tune), but there will be scheduled events most weekends.

It might be that when the original spec list was posted the car was missing swaybars or something. Also some engine mods change the weight as well. I wouldn't be all that worried about it.
