I have a snap on impact wrench that is supposed to be rated for around 325 ft. lbs of reverse torque with 90 psi of air.
For some reason it can't get off bolts that are only on at 180 ft. lbs.
My air compressor is a 2hp with a 15g tank. I have the compressor set at its max which is 135 psi. I am not running out of air, because I can take off 6 lug nuts before the compressor kicks in.
I oil the wrench, and have an air dryer on my compressor, as well as draining the compressor before and after use. I am using a 50 ft. 3/8" rubber air hose.
Gun is a Snap On MG325.
Why am I not getting the full torque out of my wrench?
Maybe the tool is a little dry, I have a different impact wrench but I find that mine gets a little weak if I've been lax about it keeping properly lubed, try putting a few drops of air tool oil into it. If that doesn't work, consult your Snap-on rep.

he says he oils it so that shouldnt be a problem. I use a IR impact gun, I thinks it rated at around 950 ft/lbs of torque in reverse! maybe a overkill but I wasnt sure whats needed at the time and wasnt feeling like buying a whole lot of guns to try out. its been working for me for years now, 30gal tank!
