Since the 2.8 is the great great grandfather of the upcoming 240 hp 3.9 in the G6 GTP, wouldn't the larger 60 degree V6 be a user friendly swap?

I would think so, but I'm not sure.
A friendly swap I am aware of is the 3.5L DOHC all-aluminum "shortstar" engine, with 240hp, and lower weight than the original 2.8.
Always wanted to do one of these.

The best place to see lots of wicked and fun Fieros is definitely Import Nationals at Carlisle. You guys think the Northstar one is nuts, you should see the electric ones.

      Ahhh memories.....
I had an 87 Fiero, with a small block in it.
      Very fun car !
I only sold it to so I could start a VW project.

I have always loved the way these cars looked and wanted one so badly when I was younger.
I think it was so sad that they quit manufacturing them as I felt they were finally getting it right when the quit.
I would love to go for a ride in a V8 powered one myself.

      I've got an '86 4 cylinder 5 speed now.
It was fun as hell to drive when I first got it, but now the clutch is dead, and I don't have the cash lying around to fix it.
The looks people give me when I pop the hood and tell them I'm running on a spare tire, a jack, and a radiator fan are ridiculous.

My wife had a red '86 GT when we were dating in '87, and she still regards that Fiero as the best car she's ever had. No problems, just enjoyable motoring in this case. She especially loved the speakers built into the headrests.
Do you enjoy old cars and long-winded stories about them? If your answer is "yes", then you might enjoy my blogpage. Try it here: http://vwlarry.blogspot.com . Leave a comment, too; I love feedback! Thanx for reading.

always wondered what an 88 GT would look like with just the finale front end
would the lines flow or look awkward? cause the back end of the kit looks a bit too busy if you've seen it you know what I mean

I guess it's really the shape of the front end.

Is that V8 in that 90 pic?
Fieros are sweet little rides; always wanted one but never found "the one"

And whoever asked about Fiero Prototypes...

This was the '89 prototype, very similar to the '90. Can't find a good pic of the '90 right now, but it was awesome!

Boy, that would have sold well i think. Especially had they put the 3800 in it.

A relatively not well known prototype, the 1.8L turbo. Engine blew up multiple times.

      Whoa thread necro.

Love the guy from the bottom of the first page predicting that these would "come back" in five years.

Was the 1.8 the same one used in the Sunfire turbo?
