Like the topic says, here are a couple I took when I was home on leave. I took a roadtrip down the west coast and back up to Vegas. I have a Nikon Coolpix 8800. BTW is this a good camera? It seems to have a TON of features and I got it for $550 here in Iraq, I think it normally sells for like 900.

Can anybody here tell what I did to this picture (without zooming in no cheating). I just want to know if it's apparent

I'm going to guess that you either masked the people or the sky and tweaked the levels of those regions. The image as shown has a wide range of subject brightnesses... getting it all properly exposed in a single shot would've been a miracle.
That said, I didn't give it a second thought until you asked and I'm grasping at straws to even think that that is what you did...
The other thing you might have done is inserted the people afterwards but if so you've done a masterful job. The lighting is perfect... likely both images were taken in the same place/same time.

A little blurry, but you get the picture.

I think I've posted most of mine before... here are some I don't think I've posted before from my 2003 trip to Oregon.

You guessed it, what happened was that this was intended to be part of the 3 pictures used to make that pan....but it wasn't taken at the same angle so I had to use magnetic lasso, then zoom in real far and use the eraser to erase between her hair...
I use a program that came with my 8700, Arcsoft Panarama maker 3....
It's an awesome program, before I figured out I had it, I tried using photoshop and it was impossible with the differing angles you'll see what I mean in a minute....

This one was impossible with my skill level in photoshop, nothing lined up etc etc, I would have had to skew the pics a lot. This was made up of I think 4 or 5 pics.

Those are both on highway 101 in Oregon....It was an awesome trip I took while on leave from Iraq.

I love Oregon. If I had to live in the US that wouldn't be a bad place to live.
Those last two images have big problems with the horizon. Better panorama software can correct that. I use PTGui 5. A couple of clicks would level and uncurve the horizon.

That curvature is in the original pictures....
I like Washington better than Oregon though, but I guess I'm partial

Maybe... wide angle lenses can do that. But ideally you want a flat and level horizon, right? That's how it looked when you were standing there.
What I can do with software is specify the lens parameters then the software unwarps the images making them flat (correcting the curved lines), further I can pick the centre point such that the horizon is in the right place and flat. I've saved many poorly shot panoramas with good software.
Just giving a bit of critique here... slanted and/or curved horizons are generally not what you want in panoramics.

Does my camera have a wide angle lense? I just used Nikons panoramic asist mode on the camera and shot it. I agree it looks HORRIBLE in the picture with the little marina or whatever. I kinda like it in the one with the glare from the sun though.
By the way what I said was a typo it's an 8700

Dunno... it's probably got some distortion at the wide end though. The horizon is very curved though... I'd have to see how bad it was in the originals. I'd like to run your original shots from the marina picture through my software to show you how it can work.
Alternatively, I could point you to some demo versions you can try if you're on a computer that you can install software on (are you in the US or the Middle East right now?).

I'll upload them, I just realized the curve in the marina one is mostly because I don't think I held the camera straight for the third pic....

Yes, that third picture really screws the whole thing... it's crooked and also there's not much detail in the overlap with the picture to its left.
This is a quick job with PTGui 5. I had to do some quick retouching to hide problems from the camera angles and the wave movement. If I was going to display/print this image I'd spend about 10 more minutes retouching it.
