Pictures of my swaps:
http://corradoalleysprojects1.shutterfly.com/

I just picked up the donor:

The patient:

The donor is great, and I kind of feel bad about parting this one but between the price, condition and mileage I have use this for the swap. The patient was a craigslist buy from a couple months back. I had been trying to decide what would happen to her until I found the tdi donor. Now its just a matter of finishing up a couple things on the other cars before I can start. The swap should go like this: spend 80 hours getting the g60 motor pulled and the engine bay cleaned up and the tdi swapped in and running and done in a clean manner. Drive it and work out any kinks. Then pull the motor out to do a timing belt and any other required maintenance. While the motor is out I will have the car resprayed and swap in better interior parts.
The Goal is to have the swap completed before Waterfest, but it won't be taken there and then have everything done by H20.

Awesome! On a related note, do you ever find smashed PD (BEW engine code) motor donors? I think you are on to something with the diesel tuning bit

nope, they are still too new to find at a price I'm willing to pay(I'm a cheap bastard), plus I don't like the idea of using mk4 wiring

although the jetta looks like it could have been fixed and put back on the road, i like the fact that you are using a car that is, arguably a dime a dozen to save an ever-rarer becoming corrado future classic.
to you budds
im guessing that if you paid in the area of 1000-1500 dollars, you will probably come out on with a small profit after pulling what you need and selling the rest of the part from the donor jetta

Coooool I'm about to do this exact same swap so we really need to compare notes!
Whats the engine code? I'm guessing AHU from the donor? Have you got wiring diagrams?
I picked up an almost complete AHU lump yesterday, but still need to source the pedal cluster and airflow meter Hoping to do the swap at the end of August.

If the Jetta is not totaled...you can fix it and probably get 6-8k for it...but on the other hand...I'd love to have a TDI Corrado.
My friend has a mk3 TDI and a mint mk3 VR6...he gave his dad the VR6.

Driving the wife's mk4 tdi jetta and hating the dash, seats, lack of dublove, and overall feel of the mk4, but I loved the mpg and tq. That gave way to my other tdi corrado.

Its an AHU, I think. I haven't checked yet. I don't have a mk3 manual yet but I do have b4 tdi diagrams I plan to get mk3 diagrams.
I plan to add a slight twist to the swap by using a B4 Passat instrument cluster, pedal cluster and wiring harness so everything will go through the firewall correctly. I'll have to modify the harness to make certain everything is correct but it won't be too bad, nothing like a mk4 harness

I own nothing, the wife owns me and hence all the cars I have 3 corrados but I doubt this one will be in my stables very long.

Hi there,
What are you doing for the fuel tank? I've read in a couple of places that its possible to use the original gas tank and lift pump...

I plan to use the mk3 dzsl sending unit or the G60 unit with a regulator

Well I haven't done much except shuffle cars around so I can eventually get working on the swap. I've been able to pull the G60 motor out this week and thats about it. There are no pictures of the empty engine bay because I left the camera at home. I do have pictures of the Passat tdi pedal cluster and Passat tdi wiring harness. The pedal cluster "should" be a direct swap. The wiring harness may require some minor modifications to work on a mk3 but I think it will be a better it then the mk3 harness due to where the mk3 harness routes through the rain tray.
