Can't agree with that. I love the Exige, very vey much. And I would love to own one as a track car one day. But I will never see it as an alternative to a Porsche. Porsches are the only marque that you can really drive to work during the week, and track it on the weekend without the car falling apart. Try that on Lotus (or Ferrari or Lambo) and you will see what I mean.

i totally agree.
the porsche is built like a bank-vault.
i reckon the same could said about the amg cars though

AMG!!

i liked the exige as well, but they had one with 15000kms on the clock, and in all honesty, it looked, a touch, tattered.
i've seen 15yo 911's in better nick.
the 968 club sports, i think, is a great entry-level porsche
even thought the market is still around 50 -60k

Jimmay, don't get me started on AMG right now! I have a temporary obsession with the C63. Hope it passes. If not I may have to put a deposit for one.

wayne, i'm a bit partial to the 63 as well.
i prefer the e63 wagon, although i'm sure the
forth-coming c class will have the chassis to cope with all
the power and torque.
the c63 will have a nice pwr/weight ratio, and sure be more than a match for e90 m3 and rs4. there will be many magazine comparos
coming up that will feature this trio....
funnily enough, the man responsible for the 63 motor,
was the main man behind the gt1 converted to gt3 motor....
it's always 1 person....

Hehe, that's what my friend is slowly doing at the moment. (It's the "buttercup" yellow one in the pic)

It was his daily driver, but now work has moved, he's cycling to work, so work is progressing faster than it was before. The whale tail is off already. (A lot heavier than it looks)
I've got classic Porsches around me, but I want a Cayman
LOL, Wayne, your No.5 is in "baby blue" in the pic above...

Yup, always the one person. This is why the Fiat 500 Abarth is gonna be sensational with the engine desgined by the same guy who did the Ferrari F1 V10 engine.

Well, far as we know it is. The engine definitely is anyway. The numbers on the body and engine matches up. Another Wayne was racing it a while ago, before he sold it to my friend. The GTI is to carry all the bits and pieces and tools as it wont fit in the other 2 cars
It's also the one I backed into not so long ago
If you are ever in Sydney, PM me, and I'll introduce you. After all, although you might not know it, you helped him out not so long ago...

Sounds good. I am ALWAYS in Sydney (like once a fortnight) but usually no time to socialise. So how did I help him out??? I must be amazing when I helped someone out without even knowing it.

This dark enough for you? Really crappy pic of my best mate's new car - a 997 Carrera S with black paint job, black wheels, black interior, and black tint. I am planning to take some much better pics when I have time.

Another Porscheaholic here. Already a member of Porsche Club Queensland as they have the best motorsport section of any club in QLD and welcome members of other marks to join in with monthly track events. Definitely see a GT3 or similar in my future though I'd prefer it to be stored near my retirment place next to the Ring As they say dreams are free...
For those in the market now there are always some nice cars for sale on the Porsche Club QLD site at http://www.porsche-qld.org.au/...t.htm
Cheers Al

2. 924 Carrera GT

There was one of these on Carsales or maybe Ebay a while back. 20k needed work. I've always liked them (924 Carrera GT's) a guy in Perth had a silver one used to park in a now defunct BP garage in West Perth.
My mate is rebuilding a 75 Targa, ex Texas car, when he had it stripped down I had a look and was amazed by how solid it was. He can buy any parts he wants from the Porsche dealer including a RHD firewall for the conversion
