I just hated how bloated it looked in 2005 when they first came to the states. Compare them to previous models or older cars in general, they just looked big. Once I got my own, I realized they're pretty legit. And I love the smooth looks of the MKIV, MKV, and MKVI.

Early this morning I put my 2008 Jetta 2.0T up on the hoist and I ripped off the factory catalytic converter due to it being defective and installed a 3" cat-delete, resonator delete stainless system.... I have noticed extremely lower engine bay, exhaust and engine temperatures and after an 800km round trip after the cat delete I can attest to a 12.67% GAIN in fuel mileage. I installed a 90 degree brass bung from eBay for $7.99 and installed the post-catalytic H02S in it and have no DTC's for the now missing catalytic converter.... better fuel mileage and lower turbo, engine, engine bay and exhaust temps are all HUGE bonuses.

The tails came like this, got them off eBay.
Looks like someone may have retrofitted leds into jetta tails but they sure did a great job!!
I just spliced the trunk leds wiring (black, ground & red, power) into the ground wire (brown wire) and switch wire on the outer tails. Ecs also sells a harness for these tails so you don’t have to rewire for the outer tails

Where do you get the led license plate lights that are error free? I got some bulbs off the web that said they were error free and canbus for $30 but they throw a code and with OBD-ELEVEN I can turn the code off but I have to turn the code off everytime I turn my car on

I have OE VW LED license lights on both my MKVs. You'll need resistors. I love the OE look though.

1k8943021c is what I bought 3 years ago from their eBay store. I think it’s a Porsche part #. Works without resistors. May have needed vcds coding though. No issues at all, not blue and doesn’t illuminate the entire street under the plate.

Pulled the manifold today. My 07 had so many more wire connectors by the hpfp area than my gf's 06. It was annoying!

I’ve had bad luck with deautokey. Went through several sets of city lights, and they all had a blueish tint except one. Exchanged a few times, finally gave up on that mod. Then the universal trunk LED strip I got has a bunch of LEDs that don’t work anymore.

How do you install resistors on trunk lights? Do they make trunk lights with resistors pre-installed? That are plug and play?

Volkswagen built this car around the e-brake cables.
In short, you have to take out the rear console, the front console, the passenger-side seat...

Installed my stage 1+ 93oct tune I got from Trent with Boost Dynamic Tuning. Plug and play ECU swap. Holy crap what a difference it made. Such a big improvement over stock, car shoulda came like this from the factory. So much fun to drive now. Got it for $300 free shipping.

Just did an oil change on my fiance's Jeep Wrangler. The thing appeared to have had less than a quart of oil in it! It takes 6 qts.
