Open poll... hope that turns out ok in here.
I'm getting to the point in Photoshop that I can do much of what I need to do. There's still a million things I don't know HOW to do but I want to prioritize my tutorial reading and practicing. I'd like to work on skills that are either "duh, you don't know sh*t until you know this" or the most useful (I use it for web design, very light logo stuff, and photomanip).
Help me figure out the next thing to learn. I know the basics (levels, layers, all tools, beginner paths [from AI], dodge/burn, cloning) but I've only been using it for 8 months or so.
Thanks for the feedback!

It is so different for each user of photoshop's focus that this poll will end up a murky confusing mess IMO.
What do you want to do with photoshop and art in your future?
Finding what you like/want to do and learning associated functions will help immensely. Then just time will show you the rest of the things you want to know.
I have no idea the possible number of man hours I have in photoshop and I surely am not anywhere near the best at most of its uses.

No offense, but "murky mess" is what I think of when I read your screen name

Probably a good thing for me to answer but I don't really have an answer to that. I'm broadly creative but not highly skilled anywhere. I don't have a goal in the art/design industry, I'm still feeling it out. I'd like to have a good skill set for web design, I'd like to explore photography as a hobby at some point (not professionally), and I like being "useful" to family and friends. I just want to have a well-rounded skill set.
I hope that helps a bit... thanks for helping me clarify (though I didn't do much of that)

My most important goal is to contribute to "Plz shop my whip" threads.

^^ Thank god... I haven't been here in a couple weeks and was SHOCKED by how many threads there are. Too bad this place is a dumping ground for that.

I mainly use photoshop for photo editing and touch ups, and knowing how to that allows me to do car "shops", and other photoshop goodness.

I usually use it for small amounts of colour enhancement, haven't really gotten into how to chop cars and such, still a lot to learn

learn illustrator
and that's no joke either. illustrator is where you should be doing any and all text work, logo work, etc. Photoshop is for editing photos and setting up files for print ... in my opinion. Start designing in illustrator and import illustrations, etc into photoshop.
And seeing as you work with web, photoshop should be where you cut up your 'final' graphics. I start all websites in illustrator. Make my art pallet true size of the web site (960px wide) and go to town. Everything in illustrator is exactly precise and clean where as photoshop leaves a margin of error.
