My plans changed back in July I decided to put a big X on converting the car to OBD2 VR6 and do something fun..I had a good run with the VR6 but it was either go big turbo on the VR6 or ....... I decided on a TDI swap instead...

I knew the perfect person to do the swap for me. ..Frank Hart in NC, he has done a few TDI swaps in corrados (if you were at H2o you would of saw both of them there).
I found the perfect donor car in New Hampshire...but didn't have the time to go to New Hampshire and pick it up. So Frank drove from NC to NH stopped in CT and crashed on the couch. Then headed back to NC in the morning with the TDI jetta.

It was a complete rust bucket....

The car was supposed to go to NC by October but there was some delays...so I finally rented a Uhaul trailer on 1/22/09 to head down to VA/NC but of course ran into another problem the car was too low to get on the trailer so I took half of day of work on Friday and raised up all 4 sides...
      before:

      After:

My boyfriend and I woke up at 3:30am on Saturday morning to begin our trip down to VA we had to get down to VA pretty early to pull the VR6 out..

      The Van wasn't very happy

Arrived in VA at Frank's shop at Noon and the tear down began

      See ya VR6 ..

By 5:30pm on Saturday we loaded the golf back up on the Uhaul trailer.. Thank you Teddy and Frank

Obviously with the motor out the engine bay is going to be painted and a few other items..
      to be continued....

The new owner of the motor lives in Va so that's why the motor was pulled in VA..
All the other work is getting down that way also..

why would she have done that? The front of the trailer has the "chocks" to stop the car from rolling off of it not to mention the wheel straps are there also...

Frank also started the trend of pricing his Corrado's at $15k for a motor swap the defeats the purpose of a Corrado.
      drop.
