Just recently purchased 96 VR6 GTI used.... Love it....
Being new to the VR world, I was hoping someone could lead me to a basic visual overview of the motor and header etc... I am searching and have read the FAQ's great info !! Any leads to a basic diagram would be great, THX. (I'm not getting a tattoo) I read that and I just about died....
I am new to these motors and would like to know the in's and outs of them....

Im looking for this as well, but havent found any yet. The best bet is for someone with a Bentley manual to scan the engine overview pages.

You can try this one.... http://www.corrado-club.ca/for...=8597 It is more for the Corrado and this motor is running OBD-I but the basics are the same.

You should do yourself a favor and buy a Bentley manual. They are not that pricey and are priceless when you are working on your car.
